The event marked the contemporary expression of the historical journey that began 6000 years ago in the ancient Indus Valley Civilization for the people of Sindh.
DUBAI: Amidst the bustling city of Dubai, Alliance of Global Sindhi Associations, Inc., USA (AGSA) is organizing a remarkable conference “28th International Sindhi Conference”. The gathering stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of the Sindhi community, a vibrant diaspora that has overcome challenges and taken the global stage. Led by Paras Shahdadpuri, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the 28th International Sindhi Conference in Dubai, the event strives to preserve Sindhi heritage globally.
This year’s Sindhi Conference was graced by the presence of distinguished delegates including Dr. Thani Bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates, V. Muraleedharan, Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs of India. Satish Kumar Sivan, Consul General of India in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. Their participation adds a new dimension to this cultural celebration, emphasizing the global importance of the Sindhi identity.
The conference is a contemporary expression of the historical journey that began 6000 years ago in the ancient Indus Valley Civilization for the people of Sindh. This conference is a dynamic that transcends geographical boundaries and brings together Sindhis from every corner of the world. As attendees celebrate language, culture and civilization, the conference becomes a collective effort to preserve the rich heritage for future generations. The conference provides a platform to foster new relationships among Sindhis across the world.
It is an opportunity not only to remember the past but also to sow the seeds of a vibrant Sindhi heritage that will endure for generations to come. A successful effort has been made to romanize the Sindhi language so that the younger generation, who have not been exposed to their Sindhi mother tongue, will now have the opportunity to learn Sindhi in the Romanized script.
Just a few days ago, an award was also announced in the honor of Vashu Bhai Shroff, a senior and respected personality of Sindhi society. Chandrashekhar Bhatia, who announced the award, said that no matter how modern Sindhi society becomes, we do not forget the contribution of our elders and this award is a step towards honoring that contribution.
The important topic of how to present business and economic content in these annual conferences and how to institutionalize its structure is also being discussed and finalized during this Dubai conference. The 28th International Sindhi Conference is a symbol of unity and cultural preservation. It is an affirmation that Sindhi identity is not just a reflection of history but a living, thriving force that shapes the present and future.
