Japanese firm Mitutoyo South Asia to provide skilled manpower to MSMEs, create employment

NEW DELHI: Mitutoyo South Asia, the Indian arm of Japanese multinational Mitutoyo Corporation will provide skilled manpower to MSME units in the industrial metrology segment and create employment by way of providing training on the latest technological machines of coordinate measuring machine (CMM) in India.

For this purpose, Mitutoyo South Asia signed an agreement with the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) – an Indian government enterprise functioning under the union ministry of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) on January 13.

To take off the training of manpower from New Delhi, the company that specializes in the field of measuring instruments and metrological technology may span its facility to all its ten centers in India, N Bajaj, the managing director of Mitutoyo South Asia told Asian Community News (ACN) Network.

On Monday, both sides signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the presence of top management at the NSIC – Technical Services Centre, New Delhi.

The MoU was signed by O.P.Singh, Centre Head, NTSC (Okhla) and Harrish Bajaj, Deputy Managing Director, Mitutoyo South Asia in the presence of Vijayendra, CMD, NSIC and P.Udayakumar, Director (P&M), NSIC, Satvinder Singh, CGM- Technology and Manoj Lal, General Manager (SG), NSIC at the NSIC Campus, New Delhi.

N Bajaj, the Managing Director, MSA and Masudome, VP, MSA were also present on this occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Vijayendra, CMD, NSIC said that NSIC was in tune with the needs of the changing needs of the world market and is committed to bringing the latest technology with world-class service to the MSME sector.

Under the Memorandum of Understanding Mitutoyo South Asia will provide CMM machine CRYSTA –APEX with necessary probing kits and software’s and will create a Skill Development Centre in “Advanced Training Centre” of NSIC –Technical Services Centre ( Okhla) wherein state-of-the-art training will be imparted to trainees and services to MSME units.

This Skill Development Centre will bridge the gap between institution and industry in the area of industrial metrology.

Later talking to Asian Community News (ACN) Network, Harrish Bajaj said that the MoU with NSIC was first of its kind arrangement for the skilled manpower development and MSA planed to model it and take it to the next level proficiency.

When asked about the quality of manpower the industrial training institutes produce in India, Bajaj said, “They (students) get a sense of training at these institutions and they are good at it. But these institutions need to be refreshed and updated. And that is where we come in with new technologies and new course work to support and level up for the ITIs. We hire lots of students from Delhi Institute of Technology, and we also work with the industry, and have tied up with three common facility platforms in Aurangabad, Surat, and Jamshedpur.”
