Eight-nation delegation of Consul Generals visits Aurangabad Industrial City, Maharashtra

MUMBAI: With a view to exploring investment opportunities in the Western India state Maharashtra, a high-power delegation Consul Generals and trade association heads from eight countries – Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Israel, the Netherlands, Sweden, Germany, and Singapore, recently visited Aurangabad Industrial City (AURIC), held several roundtable meetings and interacted with the local industrialists.

While most of the participating countries were represented by their respective counsel generals, Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) and Taiwan Chamber of Commerce, Mumbai represented Japan and Taiwan.

The 3-day visit (March 25-27) to Aurangabad Industrial City, which happens to be India’s first smart industrial park with an overall planning concept, covering an area of ​​10,000 acres was organised by the Maharashtra government that was represented by Subhash Desai, Minister of Industry of Maharashtra besides senior officials from the government.

After visiting the AURIC, Tseng Hsiao-Li (Jennifer Makhecha), Chairperson, Taiwan Chamber Of commerce, Mumbai who represented Taiwan as part of the delegation said that there are sufficient water resources and a stable power supply, which is suitable for high-tech Taiwanese factories to invest there.

On the issue of Taiwan-India cooperation, Tseng Hsiao-Li said that the automotive supply chain in Maharashtra is quite mature, so if Taiwanese companies can jointly develop the electric vehicle supply chain here, there will be great opportunities and potential.

Tseng Hsiao-Li said that the advantage of Taiwanese manufacturers lies in the high-tech supply chain, and the requirements for the location of the factory are quite high, and Aurangabad Industrial City, as a smart park, has sufficient dams nearby to use water resources, recycled water, and stable power supply systems.

And advanced network real-time reporting control system will be a good option for Taiwanese companies to set up factories.

The delegation also made a visit DMIC Shendra Industrial Area and later went to visit the ancient Ellora caves for the tourism purpose.
