‘Namaste Japan Fest’ maiden event in New Delhi a grand success

Namaste Japan Fest with special focus on Fukuoka, its art and culture attracted huge crowd in New where it was organized at the Garden of Five Senses on Sunday, February 10.

It is well known that Fukuoka and New Delhi are sister cities.

The visitors from across nationalities and societies enjoyed Japanese cultural programs, sumptuous food, ethnic attires and many more disciplines related to rich Japanese culture.

As mark of the cultural exchange initiative, the Japanese and Indian participants sang songs in Indian and Japanese languages respectively as Japanese people sand Bollywood songs and Indians sang Japanese songs.

Namaste Japan Fest Executive Committee organized the Namaste Japan Fest while it was supported by Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan, Delhi Government, Delhi Tourism and transportation Development Corporation and OISHI CHAEN CO. LTD.

Shinichiro Muta who specially flew in from Fukuoka played mouth organs – both the English as well as Japanese ones like Ocarina and left the audience spellbound.

The Mumbai-based Sensei Academy led by Partik sang Japanese song. “Our group Sensei Academy sang famous Japanese song, “Itsudemo Yume wo – 1962”,” said Pratik Kishor Kelkar of the group adding that Sensei Academy was the winner of Group Song Contest which was held in Mumbai in 2018.

Manami Japanese Restaurant with branches in Gurgaon, Delhi and Neemrana (Rajasthan) served sumptuous Japanese cuisines like Chicken Tebasaki and Veg Croquette at very nominal rates to make more and more people try the Japanese dishes.

Ryuji Tomiyama, the managing director and CEO of Namami enterprises Private Limited said that the Namaste Japan Fest attracted a huge crowd.

Yoshikazu Nishino representative partner of Nishino Solutions that also served Japanese food said,” The Namaste Japan Fest was a successful initiative by the authorities.”

Some of the Japanese language training and tour organizing institutions like Fukuoka Foreigner Language College, Team Language Services and Wovoyage too participated in the event.

Dharmendra Kumar the chairman of Namaste Fukuoka Executive Committees said that the fest attracted a huge crowd from all sections of the society. “Though it was a first show of its kind but we are delighted to say that it was a successful initiative,” added Kumar who is also GSIC founder, Fukuoka India Friendship Association President and also represents Fukuoka Overseas Students Association.
