Founded in 1928 by the British India Government to showcase Indian art and artists globally, the All India Fine Arts & Crafts Society (AIFACS) is one of the prestigious and the oldest art galleries of India with a strong historical significance.

Luna Arts is an online art marketplace for talented Indian artists and also organizes offline art exhibitions. It was founded by an art entrepreneur Smita and her brother Tushar in December 2019. The duo understands the intricate dynamics of the world of art. NAKSHATRA is their 5th art exhibition since last one year.

Smita, Co-founder, Luna Arts

According to Smita the objective behind the establishment of this art venture is to provide an excellent and fair platform for the emerging and lesser known but very talented artists of India.

“We promote those amazing artists who deserve recognition, who are unrecognized by an Indian art industry in spite of their sheer talent. Art is a metaphysical medium to create a shift in the human consciousness. Through these group art exhibitions we want to promote art & culture and infuse compassion and peace in our human society,” Smita and  Tushar said during an interview with Asian Community News Network.

Tushar, Co-founder, Luna Arts

While revealing the philosophy behind the exhibition’s name NAKSHATRA ,Tushar, Co-founder, Luna Arts said that we have given name NAKSHATRA because our exhibition falls in an auspicious time of the festive month when the 9 divine days of Navratri ends and the esoteric days of Diwali begins.

Tushar said, “We have taken this name from Abhijit Nakshatra which is the 22nd lunar mansion out of 28 in the ancient vedic system of Nakshatra. Abhijit is the Sanskrit name for Vega, the brightest star in the northern constellation of Lyra and it means the victorious One or the one who cannot be defeated.”
