A Victory for All: Asian Unity Golf Cup 2025 Celebrates Sport, Culture, and Diplomacy
Participants from Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, and India - all emerged as winners at the Asian Unity Golf Cup 2025, a celebration of sportsmanship, unity, and cultural exchange that strengthened regional ties through diplomacy and camaraderie.
Gurugram, India – The Asian Unity Golf Cup 2025 concluded with a grand celebration of sportsmanship, diplomacy, and cultural unity in Gurugram. The event, organized by the Asian Community News (ACN) Network and the ACN Advisory Board, brought together golf enthusiasts and dignitaries from across Asia, showcasing the region’s spirit of collaboration under the tagline “Because Asia Matters.”

The much-anticipated tournament witnessed participation from key Asian nations, including Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, and India. It was a true victory of unity in diversity, as every participant emerged a winner in their own right. The students of Lancers International School set the tone for the day with a mesmerizing cultural showcase, reflecting the values of global citizenship and mutual respect.
Gurjas Singh was adjudged the winner of the Longest Drive and was awarded an LG Side by Side Refrigerator. The Closest to Pin title in the men’s category was won by Kil Hoi Choi, who received an LG Nanocell 65’ TV, while Ms. Bhakhtawar Saini won the same title in the women’s category and received an LG Nanocell 65’ TV. The Team Net Winner title went to Tomoyo Miyamoto, Cho Sung Jong, Gurjas Singh, and Rajender Athwal, each of whom received a Japanese 17-Pc Tea Set sponsored by Noritake. The first runners-up were Ryohei Aiba, Kim Sanggun, Hiroshi Takeda, and In Taehn, who won a Japanese 12-Pc Tea Set sponsored by Noritake.

The second runners-up were Ko Yamamoto, Lee Yanggu, Kavit Larioa, and Hironori Suzuki, who received Golf Umbrellas sponsored by Delhi Golfzon. The Net Winner title was once again claimed by Gurjas Singh, who was awarded an LG Washing Machine, while the Gross Winner title was secured by Yujin Izawa, who won an LG Air Conditioner.
The event served as a diplomatic platform, attracting participation from ambassadors, chiefs of missions, and representatives from trade and cultural organizations, including the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in India (JCCII), representing over 550 Japanese companies, the Federation of Korean Associations in India, which represents over 17,000 Koreans in India, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center (TECC), New Delhi, and the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce in India (TCCIN), representing about 300 Taiwanese companies.

Representatives from MEA India, JCCII, TAITRA, KITA, KOSMA, KOSME, and HCCD-India were also present to discuss trade, technology, tourism, and education, exploring new avenues of collaboration.
The event also featured a special speech by two students—one Japanese and one Korean—who highlighted the role of Lancers International School in fostering cultural values and unity among students from diverse backgrounds. Their words reinforced the institution’s commitment to global citizenship and respect.

The evening culminated in a Solidarity Dinner & Award Ceremony, where participants enjoyed a diverse culinary spread featuring delicacies from Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, and India. The event also showcased stellar performances from renowned Asian pop groups. Sacred Fleramo, the Japanese idol group, returned to India after their debut at the Konnichiwa Japan Festival, while India’s K-pop dance sensation, Girl Crush, enthralled the audience with their performance. A special attraction of he event was the cutting of Asian Unity Cake by the special guests.
Adding to the excitement, Japanese students from Lancers Primary School performed a traditional song and dance routine, celebrating the rich heritage of Japan. This was followed by a dynamic Korean musical performance, featuring traditional drums and violin, blending classical and contemporary Korean music. Ms. Kaori presented the captivating Odyssey dance performance.

The event was graced by several dignitaries, including Lee Sung-ho, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, Takashi Ariyoshi, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of Japan, Baushuan Ger, Ambassador of Taiwan, who delivered a message via video, and Masni Eriza, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of Indonesia. Union Minister of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, Bhupender Yadav, who could not attend, sent a special message wishing the event success.
The Asian Unity Golf Cup 2025 was proudly sponsored by leading corporations from diverse industries. Sponsors included MIRAE Construction India and AJU Hotel from the construction and hospitality sectors. LG Life’s Good and Noritake Japan 1904 represented technology and consumer goods, while Omni Card, ZEUS Law, and Jupiter Law Partners provided financial and legal services. Global Suntory Spirits, JOE’S CRAFT, MAIN DISH, and Kavalan Single Malt Whisky, presented by the Taipei Economic & Cultural Center (TECC), contributed to the food and beverage segment. Japanese food was served by AJU group of Japanese hotels.

Scottish High International , Expatria, Misostudy, and Aspen Dental extended their support in education and healthcare. Lancers International School, and Delhi Golfzon backed the sports and recreation activities. Tech enterprises such as WANDOC, TAISYS, and Noah Planet showcased their involvement, along with cultural supporters Yakult, Veena Enterprises, Hook Catch, and Himanshu Printer’s. WandoC Impex, led by Mr. Kwon, played a special role by serving abalone to participants during the Solidarity Dinner & Award Ceremony, while Expatria – Mobility Redefined provided transportation facilities.
