NEW DELHI: Suspecting Chinese coronavirus, dozens of Indians and one Chinese national who reported flu-like fever and respiratory problems have been admitted in various hospitals across the country including New Delhi.
Over 400 people suspected of being infected with the deadly virus have been put under surveillance at their homes in Southern India state Kerela.
However, the good news is that none of these suspects who returned to India from China recently, have been tested positive for this deadly virus so far.
However, a confirmed cases novel coronavirus has been reported in neighboring country Nepal.
According to reports, the death toll in China has been recorded at 106 so far, and none from other parts of the world. The virus has affected around 3,000 people across the world.
Here in India, the authorities in New Delhi on Monday isolated three coronavirus suspects in Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital after their return from China.
Four people were kept under medical observation in hospitals in Mumbai for possible exposure to virus strain after the screening of passengers was carried out at the Mumbai International Airport following an outbreak of coronavirus was reported in China’s Wuhan city.
In Kolkata, a Chinese tourist was admitted to the isolation ward of a government hospital while another woman – a native of Thailand died after developing the respiratory illness.
Thailand accounts for the highest number of reported infections outside China.
Patients are being isolated on suspicion in other Indian cities such as Chandigarh, Patna, and Jaipur.

What has caused worries for the Indian authorities is the detection of one confirmed case of coronavirus in neighboring Nepal that shares borders with five Indian cities Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, and Sikkim.
