This exceptional place was once a Maharajah’s hunting lodge. Fringed by date palms and Jamun trees, Amanbagh, a gleaming pink-sandstone resort is a haven in the wilderness. I put up at the Pool Pavilion suite, entering via a courtyard, as baroque as the bedroom suite; royal influences extend from the bathroom to the doorway opening up to the pool. Adorned in warm chocolate and creamy tones with plush, comfortable interiors, my room features top-class amenities, and what I really love the most is the spacious bathroom replete with an oversized bathtub, a vanity basin, a private lavatory, closet, and a shower; all in all a haven of luxury! The next three days are all about relaxation and I am told that the only threat to us here is the monkeys. They love to look around rooms for ‘cookies’ if we happen to leave our doors open.
