SEOUL: The ambassadors of South Korea and India will join the foundation day celebrations of the Seoul-based students and researchers association Indian Students and Researchers in Korea – ISRK on May 8.
Ms. Sripriya Ranganathan, Ambassador of India to the Republic of Korea, and Chang Jae-bok, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to India will appear in a recorded video message on this occasion.
Other noted personalities to join the celebrations and address the audience include Suresh Chukkapalli, Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Hyderabad, Prof. G.D. Yadav, Padma Shri Awardee, and Sanjeev K Ahuja, Editor-in-Chief, Asian Community News (ACN) Network.
Representing over 3,500 Indian students, researchers, and scientists in Korea, the ISRK led by Dr. Lailesh Kumar is a non-profit voluntary organization that was formed in 2019 to support Indian-origin researchers and students here.
Besides completing three years of its successful operations on May 8, the ISRK will also complete one year of bringing awareness about the contribution and achievements of distinguished Indian heroes in the Science & Technology.
The ISRK was formed to support Indian-origin researchers and students there with the idea to bring all Indian students and researchers in Korea under a single platform to support and help the community in academic and professional areas, as well as to assist to adjust with life in Korea.
May 8 event would take off with a song on ISRK activities by Sharaniya, and launch of ISRK Magazine by Dr. Vibhu Jain, Global Head of Segment Marketing & Strategy, Chemistry at Merck Group, who is also chairman of the ISRK Advisory Board.
The highlight of the event will be a narration on the importance of Science and Technology by a three-year child Shrestha Mondal, and a documentary on the achievements and life journey of Prof. M. M. Sharma, Padma Vibhushan Awardee.
Research Insights and Inspirations would be presented by Prof. G.D. Yadav, Padma Shri Awardee. The event would also witness a Quiz Competition on Distinguished Indian Heroes of Science & Technology, Hosted by Shikha Dubey, an ISRK Executive Member.
The foundation day event would also witnessed a singing performance by Jiwon Park on Aashayein-Kuch pane ki ho aas- a Hindi Song, dance performance by 9-year old Vioma Mandol on Luk Chup Na Jao Ji Song, guitar performance By Dr. Atiur Rahman, Bollywood dance by Pooja Singhm and K-Pop Dance by Korean students from India.
Prof. Mukul Basu, Overseas Director of RIST, Advisory Board Member of ISRK, Prof. Biswajit Sarkar, Yonsei University, Advisory Board Member of ISRK, and Prof. Bhushan Kumar, Lecturer Kookmin University would also address the audience.
On this occasion, the ISRK would also play a sponsorship Sent Be Video footage, followed by an address by Sent Be Marketing Head. It will be followed by another address and announcement of winners of the Foundation Day Competitions by Mrs. Shanthi Prince-Owner, Indian Chakraa Restaurant, Advisory Board Member of ISRK.
The event would come to a close with the congratulatory messages from Indian community leaders in Korea, and closing remarks by Dr. Iqbal Khazi, Vice-president of ISRK.
