In Korea, Asian Academy of Film & Television (AAFT) announces scholarships for 16 university students from Asia, Africa
NEW DELHI: The international film personality Sandeep Marwah has announced 16 scholarships for the students of various universities of Asia and Africa.
This scholarship is in addition to the scholarship announced earlier for a Korean student for a short-term course in cinema.
The announcement was made during the World Education Leaders Forum Meet at World Cultural Camp at Busan University in South Korea where Marwah-promoted the Asian Academy of Film & Television (AAFT) signed Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs) with 16 universities from Asia and Africa to promote global cooperations in art, culture, and films.
“On the last day of the Meet, we not only signed MoUs with 16 universities but also announced scholarships for 16 students from universities across the world. Already, we have awarded one scholarship to Korean student who would be visiting India, studying here for short-term course in cinema, and the scholarship covers his registration fee, production, and film making expenditure and 3-month boarding and lodging,” said Sandeep Marwah who also happens to be the President of International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI) was visiting World Education Leaders Forum meet in Busan recently.
He was also made the International Advisor of Indo-South Korean Film and Culture Forum. The Meet witnessed the participation of 5000 youths and education leaders from 60 countries.
Marwah has been associated with the Indo-South Korean Film and Culture Forum, which has 150 offices in 60 countries, for 13 years and has been been a guiding force for the Korean film industry on art, culture, dance, musical, literature, etc.
In his address in Busan meet, Marwah spoke elaborately on the grandeur of India film industry.
“We are the largest film industry in the World. We produce more than 2000 films in 28 official languages. There are 12,000 theatres in India and 15 million people watch the cinema every day. We sell 5 billion cinema tickets every year. Media and Entertainment Industry also includes 900 television channels, 30,000 newspapers and magazines, 350 Radio Stations and One Billion mobile phones out of which 25 percent are smartphones in India. The media arts and entertainment industry have employed 6 million workers. The turnover of this industry has crossed 20 billion US Dollars and expected to be 28 Billion Dollars in the next 2/3 years,” he added.
The Asian Academy of Film & Television is a film school located in India’s Noida Film City in the National Capital Region of India and is popular for film studies. It is a venture of the Asian education group and is affiliated with the International Film & Television Research Center and the Marwah Films & Video Studios.
“Films are the real mirror of the culture of any country, this kind of cultural camps at International levels such as organized by International Youth Fellowship brings lots of love, peace, and unity among countrymen and people from different nations,” added Sandeep Marwah.
Sandeep Marwah invited people of all nations to attend the Global Film Festival, Global Literary Festival, Global Festival of Journalism and Global Fashion Week happening next in India.
