As we drive along from the airport after a wonderful IndiGo flight ( What impresses me most about flying IndiGo in the new normal is the powerful, in-built air filtration systems on all of its aircraft to guarantee the removal of viruses and bacteria), we come upon what looks like a balmy paradise in downtown Dubai!
The moment we enter the gates of The Address Downtown, we pause taking in the works of art. The inside certainly attracts attention, the whole space dotted with indulgence! The hotel, a part of the Emaar Hospitality Group’s Address Hotels and Resorts brand, has long been one of the emirate’s favourite choices for travelers, especially for its walkable proximity to the Dubai Mall.

In the bedroom, lights are low, everything is sleek and understated down to the colors used, and it is intimate and inviting, even sexy. The suite, in which we stay, has an outside sitting area that is characterized by gorgeous views of the pool and the Burj Khalifa. Hi-speed internet to keep in touch with the real world and an option of cotton linen, duvets, and choice of fluffy pillows. The best feature for us in the room is definitely a spacious bathroom, and we like how each space is utilized perfectly.
DINING
We discover a place where we can be at our best, Address Downtown is taking on the big guns in the family holiday market! If you are keen on an innovative Parisian apartment to California and Asian enthused cuisine, we would highly recommend Zeta; the setting is dramatic, as befits the experience!
From the table, the view is across the stunning Burj Khalifa and the musical lit fountain show and serves as a relaxed zone as well as a place to enjoy good Asian style stir fry. Turkish flavors at The Galliard and a new-age version of the old-style American steakhouse at STK, the hotel offers a range that charms the taste of astute gourmets and culinary aficionados alike.
If you fancy cigars, head to the ‘Cigar Lounge’; it is the perfect spot to enjoy a good single-malt paired along with a premium cigar from Cuba or South America.
