Korean Cultural Centre India and Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Hotel Management, New Delhi (BCIHMCT) are going to host All India Korean Food Cooking Contest with K-Food festival contents through online & offline hybrid mode.
The event will be conducted in two phases: online round, registration which is starting from today, 26th August and will end on 11th September. Participants will need to send their own cooking video of any one Korean cuisine by using authentic recipe or innovative fusion cuisine to register@koreanculture.in
The best selected 10 videos from both the categories, (1)professional(Hotel management & Culinary school students included) (2)open to all based on the criteria(creativity, performance, authenticity, cooking skills, final dish demonstration, video editing, etc.) by BCIHMCT`s professional faculty members will go in the further competition. The 5 videos from both the categories will be selected for final round on basis of counts of likes and views of the video till 30th September.
The grand finale, offline round will be held on 21st October at BCIHMCT campus where the finale participants will be presenting authentic Korean or progressive Korean fusion cuisine which will undergo the scrutiny of eminent judges.
Apart from this onsite competition, there will be three day gala fest with different cuisines from 19th – 21st October by BCIHMCT at the campus with other institutes` participations. 21st October will be special exclusive day as K-food festival with the special workshop about Korean food by Korean national level chefs who will be invited from Korea and Korean cultural performances and events.
Hwang Il Yong, director of Korean Cultural Centre India said, “Korean food has risen as rising star player out of Hallyu(Korean cultural wave) contents in India. Media news and market index show that now Indian people are getting interested about Korean food beyond their first love for K-Pop or K-drama. We are presenting this K-Food festival, a gift package for K-food lover as our response to people`s love and demand.”
