BTS’s Jin birthday trended on top of Twitter, other social media in India on Friday 

NEW DELHI: Despite Friday being an eventful day in India with a score of developments dotting the scene, what created the maximum buzz on social media platforms was the birthday of Jin, the oldest member of the world-famous Korean pop band BTS.

Besides social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and others what trended most on the microblogging site Twitter was Jin’s birthday that BTS fandom ARMY celebrated by posting millions of birthday greetings, messages, photos, GIFs, etc.

Millions of K-pop fans in India and worldwide flooded the social media platforms with their birthday wishes and greetings and showered their blessings on this BTS star who turned 28 on Friday.

The hashtags and topics creating a maximum buzz on Twitter were #OurMoonJinDay, #HappyBirthday.Jin,

#BrightestDiamond.Jin, #OurSparklingGem.Jin, Happy Jin, and Jin Oppa trended for about 10 hours on December 4.

Of the total 10 hours, the #HappyBirthday.jin trended on the highest-ranking on Twitter continuously for five hours.

There was a moment when all the four top rankings on Twitter were on Jin’s birthday only.  #OurMoonJinDay had had a maximum of more than 12,24,000 tweets from his fans in India followed by  #HappyBirthday.Jin with over 735,000 tweets.

#BrightestDiamond.Jin attracted over 289,000 tweets, #OurSparklingGem.Jin over 290,000 tweets and Happy Jin over 698,000 tweets k, Jin Oppa and Happy Jin over 334,000 tweets.

At some moment of the day on December 4, six out of top-ranking hashtags/topics were on Jin’s birthday on Twitter.

As the clock turned 12 in South Korea, what added to the thrill of the BTS fans was that Jin sprung a surprise for his fans and released a solo track titled Abyss, leaving many of his fans in tears.

However, Friday was an eventful day when other developments too were also doing rounds of social media platforms.

Counting of votes for the Hyderabad civic polls was the matter that was circulating fats throughout the day on all modes of media including social. The Indian Navy Day was another news that was trending and was giving tough competition. India Australia cricket match was another strong contender on social media.

Despite all that, the BTS’s Jin birthday did extremely well on social media on Friday and it was the testimony of the fact that this K-pop band enjoys a very strong fandom in India.
