This year ABU General Assembly (GA) and its affiliated events will be hosted by Prasar Bharati. CEO Kim will contest for the post of vice president of the union at the general meeting to be held on November 30th based on the recommendations from major Asian broadcasters such as Japan’s NHK and Turkey’s TRT.
Kim said, “KBS will contribute and lead the development of the broadcasters in the Asia Pacific region by sharing its content production know-how and broadcasting technology development experience, such as UHD 4K ATSC 3.0 through the participation in the ABU executive board.”
KBS CEO, Kim Eui Chul continued with showing his special appreciation for Indian partner and expectation about more possibilities with potential partners, “India has been an important partner for KBS in broadcasting culture exchange.”
In particular, Prasar Bharati, who is hosting this year G.A. has been developing cooperation in content exchange on digital platforms between Korea and India. KBS’ international channel ‘KBS World’ has been broadcasting through India’s largest satellite broadcasting platform, DD Free Dish and Prasar Bharti`s international broadcasting channel, DD India, has been transmitted through KBS digital platform MyK since 2019 year.
With this year ABU`s GA event as an opportunity, we plan to broaden the scope of cooperation with Indian member companies in more diverse fields.
