NEW DELHI: Indian youths have trolled the Twitter-friendly Chinese ambassador in India Sun Weidong on social media platform Twitter, and condemned China for supporting Pakistan on the issue of Kashmir.

The emotional outburst of the apparently enraged Indian youths on Twitter surfaced after the Chinese ambassador made a post related to his speech delivered by him during a reception hosted at the Chinese Embassy in New Delhi for celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China on September 27.

Even though, his tweet attracted over 2300 likes and 93 retweets, some of the people like Manmeet posted, “Congratulations to all Chinese in India on the occasion of 70th anniversary of PRC. Hope India and China will usher in greater thrust & cooperation with each other instead of poking nose in other’s affairs. Live & Let Live!”

However, not all were courteous enough like Manmeet in making their point on the Chinese stand on Kashmir issue, and used some harsh words like “Get Out”.

Others said dancing with Jihad will only bring darkness.

While replying to the claims of Chinese envoy in his speech about various milestones achieved by China on the economic and industrialization front, Abhishek Gupta wrote, “Human rights violation is not an achievement.”

However, Sun Weidong chose not to respond to any of the posts and continued to make other posts on Twitter.

Even though social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook and others are banned in China but its diplomats use these digital platforms for sharing their thoughts in other countries.

A former ambassador to Pakistan and expert on South Asian affairs, Sun Weidong is very regular with the use of the official Twitter handle @China_Amb_India.

On July 21 immediately after landing in New Delhi to assume his new responsibility as Indian ambassador, he had tweeted at 2.41 am and announced about his arrival in New Delhi.

Weidong is fond of making 2-3 posts every day on Twitter about the events he attends as well as news articles published world over on various media platforms.

While raising the Kashmir issue at the UNGC on September 28, China – a close ally of Pakistan said that the “dispute” should be peacefully and properly addressed in accordance with the UN Charter, Security Council resolutions and the bilateral agreement.

In clear opposition to abrogation of article 370 and 35A from its constitution ending the special status of Kashmir by India, China also said that no action should be taken that would unilaterally change the “status quo”.
