CSR: South Korean NongHyup Bank 농협은행 offers New Year gift to UP School students
SIKANDRABAD (Uttar Pradesh). The staffers of NongHyup Bank (농협은행) – a South Korean bank, led by its managing director braved the intensely cold bone-chilling weather to reach a government-run school in northern Indian state Uttar Pradesh on Monday to donate high-quality wooden and steel desks and snacks for the students.
This was nothing less than a New Year surprise for the students as they received desks on December 30 with just one day left for the year 2020 to begin.
Earlier on July 5 too, the staffers of NongHyup Bank – also known as NH Bank, led by its managing director Sung Chang Hong accosted the same school to give away desks and snacks to the students who were sitting on the floor.
“The last occasion, we couldn’t cover all the students. At that time, we promised ourselves that we will come back again within this year with more desks and chairs so that all students can use the same. Today, we fulfilled our promise. We are so delighted to be here as students turned up in huge number despite intense cold weather and vacations,” said Sung Chang Hong.
Other staffers who accompanied Sung Chang Hong to the school as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives were Ilhyoun Park, Sangwoo son and Swati Sachdeva.
Situated in Faridpur village on the outskirts of the district Sikandrabad, this middle-standard with the student’s strength of 170 – both girls and boys, miserably lacks the elementary infrastructure.
The bank earlier had donated 20 wooden and steel desks to the students who had been studying by sitting on the floor. Each desk can accommodate four students.
According to the bank, the school was handed over 27 more desks and some goodies like snack boxes.
The school head Shikha Singhal was also present on the occasion.
