Art galleries from East Asian and other countries exhibiting paintings and artifacts at the India Art fair 2019 drew huge crowd.
The art lovers from India and other countries showed keen interest in the paintings and artifacts made by the artists especially from Japan, Korea and China.
Korean Ambassador to India Shin Bongkil also visited a number of stalls of these countries on the opening day of the fair on January 31, and interacted with the artists as well as curators.
He also clicked some photos of the art works made by Korean artists with his mobile phone.
India Art Fair is the leading platform to discover modern and contemporary art from South Asia and a portal to the region’s cultural landscape.

Sokyo Gallery from Japan, Arario Gallery with offices in Shanghai, Cheonan and Seoul, and REDSEA Gallery, Singapore and Kim Deok Han_Studio from Seoul exhibited their art works during the 4-day mega show.
According to Shotaro Kobayashi of Sokyo Gallery from Japan the gallery put at display artworks and sculptures mostly made of ceramics pertaining to six Japanese and one US based artists during the fair.
These artists included Kimiyo Mishima, Satoru Hoshino, Torn Ishii, Heichang Yoon, Shozo Michikawa, Masatomo Toi (all from Japan) and John Mason from USA.
However, Shotaro Kobayashi said the crowd at the India Art Fair 2019 was less than expected.
“I find better footfall during art exhibitions in other countries like Taiwan,” he said.
Arario Gallery displayed artworks of three artists – Tallur L N, Nalini Malani and Kim Taeh.
Some of the vistiors from Korea were late in reaching the fair as they got stuick in huge traffic jams near the vanue NSIC Exhibition Ground, said Sujeet Kumar, the deputy manager with Le Passage to India.
He was escorting a Korean troupe to the venue.
Kim Deok Han, the South Korean contemporary artist has put on display “Overlaid Series” paintings at the India Art Fair 2019. The Korean Cultural Centre India (KCCI) has introduced Kim Deok Han here.
