A five-star celebration of art deco, outstanding with its awe-inspiring architecture and decor, inspired by the Mughal dynasty and Royal Rajputs of yore. Nestled amidst the stately Aravalli hills, with gracefully appointed 245 rooms and suites, Fairmont is surrounded by green pastures and sheep-dotted fields near Jaipur, which is about 30 minutes away but that’s the joy; Food, peace, and relaxation are what you come for.

This is the kind of hotel that pursues to crush guests with its glamour, but it’s also friendly enough to promptly feel at ease. The palace echoes a seamless blend of proportioned Mughal architecture, old-style Rajasthani décor, and contemporary amenities.

ACCOMMODATION:

As is so often the case these days, all the rooms are festooned the same. However, at the Fairmont Gold, their embellishment is so delightfully art deco, functional and domestic, yet chic and original, that it matters far less than in other hotels. Expect light fixtures, and goldwork, that adds a modern, high voltage gloss. The textures are just as compelling as the visuals. Bathrooms are bright and calming, featuring a beautiful bathtub, large walk-in rain-showers, and fragrant toiletries. Looks and coziness wise, rooms are unmanageable to a fault. Though I would recommend booking a terrace suite so that you do not need to step out of the comfort of your room at all!

FOOD, DRINKS & SERVICE:

Casual, all-day dining takes place within the hotel’s Kitchen, Bar, and Terrace. Dishes are light, seasonal, and locally sourced, showcasing the region’s flavours, such as Gatta Curry, Laal Maas & Choorma. A good idea is to wash it down with a cocktail or a local craft beer.  Afternoon tea at ‘Anjum’ is a treat for guests who want to indulge in the excellent assortment of Indian and international teas and coffees, for me it is always silver-tipped white tea or masala chai and some local Rajasthani yummies presented on a traditional three-tier stand. The high tea experience can be organized at various venues across the palace grounds, with their chefs curating wonderful menus complementing the pours of your choice.

As part of Accor’s Planet 21 Acting Here initiatives, plastic straws and stirrers have been substituted with recyclable options, while they are working on eliminating single-use plastic totally in the near future. What sets a Fairmont Jaipur stay apart is the matchless splendor of the palace with its extremely striking backdrop of the green hills, abundant arches and pillars, and remarkable details all through the design, evocative of the Royal era. The honest and engaged service makes every guest feel like a modern royal, thereby creating cherished memories for life.
