First of its kind heli-hub to operate chopper service to come up in Gurugram
Haryana government has directed the officials of the state civil aviation department to prepare a project report and expedite the land acquisition process in Gurugram.
GURUGRAM: Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala today said that a heli-hub will be set up in Gurugram, where many aviation facilities will be available from the heliport for the helicopters to their hangar, repair, etc. This heli-hub will be the first of its kind in the country to have all the above facilities in one place for helicopters.
The Deputy CM gave this information after presiding over a meeting of senior officers of the Civil Aviation Department, HSIIDC, Town and Country Planning, and other departments at his office in Chandigarh today.
Additional Chief Secretary, Haryana Civil Aviation Department and Chief Executive Officer of Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority Gurugram, Sudhir Rajpal, HSIIDC Managing Director Vikas Gupta, OSD to Deputy Chief Minister Kamlesh Bhadu, and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
The Deputy Chief Minister, who also holds charge of the Civil Aviation Department, said that the place where the heli-hub will be built in Gurugram will be near the metro train facility, and connectivity to industrial areas like Noida, Bhiwadi, etc. will also be easy.
He has instructed the officers to prepare the project in detail about the proposed heli-hub and start the work by removing the hurdles in taking the land and starting other facilities.
However, a senior executive with South Korean trade body said that much study was still needed to take the project forward.
“If the conditions including airfare are acceptable, there will be many executives willing to use the service to routes like Noida, Rajastan and even Punjab,” he added.
This senior corporate honcho said that the city like Gurugram was replete with the elite executive class who desparately required chopper service as traffic condition on roads was worsening with each passing day.
A state government statement issued on Tuesday stated that it was due to the efforts of the deputy CM Dushyant Chautala, many important projects have been started by the Civil Aviation Department in the state and already ongoing projects are being expedited. Work is being done expeditiously on preparing the Maharaja Agrasen Airport in Hisar in detail and starting other purposes related to defense.
Recently, instructions were given regarding the construction of an alternate route from Barwala road, demolition of a multipurpose hall, new boundary wall in place of old boundary wall of the airport, shifting of BPCL gas bottling plant. Removal of sheds built near the airport, construction of new hangars and apron in the airport premises, construction of a runway on Dhansu road, removal of power poles and lines at the construction site, the establishment of 33-kilowatt sub-station, observation home Instructions have been given to complete the demolition, terminal and other building construction on time.
Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala also directed the officials of the Civil Aviation Department to find additional land around Bhiwani, Narnaul, and Pinjore airstrips so that other aviation-related activities can be expanded. He said that such activities or projects provide benefits in the development of the area.
