Global leaders from Japan, Korea, Dubai, India make it big at International Golf Championship 2022
Organised by the Golf Federation of India, the International Golf Championship 2022 was inaugurated by Faggan Singh Kulaste, Minister of State for Rural Development and Steel.
NEW DELHI: The lush green and sprawling golf course at the ITC Classic Golf and Country Club adorned truly the international colours as it played host to International Golf Championship 2022 on Saturday when a score of Japanese and South Korean nationals including diplomats, business, trade, and community leaders along with Indian high-ranking bureaucrats, government officials including Indian, administrative, police, legal and revenue services played golf in a congenial and friendly and yet professional atmosphere.
Organised by the Golf Federation of India, the International Golf Championship 2022 was inaugurated by Faggan Singh Kulaste, Minister of State for Rural Development and Steel. Subodh Gupta, CMD, Microtek, Chief Patron, Golf Foundation of India, and President, CII, Himachal Pradesh along with Aryavir, Founder and General Secretary, Golf Federation of India and Dhruv Pal Singh were also present on the occasion.
The winners included J k Choi (#7 Straightest Drive) from South Korea, Ashis Mohunty (#18 3rd shot closest to pin), Park Taejin (#14 longest Drive) from South Korea, S H Park (# Winner Korean Delegation), I Kinnugawa (# Winner Japanese Delegation), Justice Anoopinder S Grewal (# Winner Legal Delegation), Sanjeev Goyal (# Winner Indian civil services), Ms Hamina Grewal (# Women Winners ), Takeshi Kato (# Overall Best Net) from Japan, Somesh Goyal (# Overall Best Gross).
In his address, the minister Kulaste, said that the International Golf Championship 2022 organised by Golf Federation of India was an excellent initiative that promoted India’s friendship as well as sportsmanship with friendly nations like Japan, South Korea and others. He said that this event gelled well with PM Narendra Modi’s initiative “Khelo India” that promotes friendship and sportsmanship across the world apart from India.
There were a total of eight players from Japan and the same number from South Korea.
