Haryana invites Japanese companies to invest in ‘Global City’ project, others
The pilot of this ambitious project is likely to be launched by the end of next month, says Haryana deputy chief Minister while inaugurating 70th Anniversary India-Japan Friendly Golf Cup on Sunday.
GURUGRAM: Already home to about Japanese 500 companies and 4000 expat communities, Haryana has invited more Japanese companies to invest in its futuristic project Global City coming up in Gurugram. Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Singh Chautala extended the proposal to the Japanese community on Sunday while inaugurating the 70th Anniversary India-Japan Friendship Golf Cup in Gurugram on Sunday. Chautala said that business leaders from Japan would be the best people to understand this concept of Global City, which will be a green project coming in Gurugram on the live-work-relax concept. The pilot of this project was likely to be launched by the end of next month, he said.
Organised by Asian Community News (ACN) Network at the Golden Greens Golf Club, the 70th Anniversary India-Japan Friendship Golf Cup aimed at celebrating the 70 anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Indian and Japan.
Kunihiko Kawazu, Minister & Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of Japan, and Kenji Sugino, Secretary-General, Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in India (JCCII) were also present on this occasion. As many as 70 industry leaders and corporate bosses from top Japanese companies including Maruti Suzuki, Canon, Mitsubishi, Toray, Mitsui, ANA Airlines, etc, and top diplomats from the Japan embassy were also present on this occasion.
“We invite Japanese companies to come and visit the green project Global City coming up in the heart of Gurugoan where we going to make a city within a city. It is being designed on the concept of live, work and play. Japan is the best to understand this concept,” said the deputy chief minister.
This 1000-acre project is positioned as the Central Business District (CBD) of the National Capital Region offering everything needed to work, play, and rest. Global City, a mix land use Township, will be a “City within a City” with inspiring workspaces and bespoke city-centric living. It has been visualized to tap the potential of Gurugram as a hub for the Service Industry.
While welcoming Japanese companies to invest in Haryana, Chautala said “Here you can work, and also play golf. This city will have medical, retail and hospitality facilities besides work and residential spaces. In the end of November we going to launch the pilot of this project,” he added.
While talking about his recent business tour to Dubai, Chuatala said that Haryana had taken another step further in becoming the aviation hub.
“We have started developing 7200-acre airport in Hisar. It will be not only be for the passengers but also a transit hub for cargo and passengers both. In UAE, we had fruitful meetings with multiple players such as Airbus, Boeing and other global aviation leaders. Who are supporting drone manufacturing also through the aero defence policy.
He proposed that Japan should look forward to Haryana more to foster better partnerships for a very long period, and grow it day by day. “So come and invest because wee have Haryana Enterprise and Entrepreneurship policy that gives you all the spport required to setup businesses here. Haryana was the first state to which took first step on ease of doing business, and we give single window clearance in 45 days.”
Kunihiko Kawazu, Minister & Deputy Chief of Mission, and Charge d’affairs Ad Interim, Embassy of Japan, said India and Japan had very strong and friendly ties for a very long, and more Japanese companies are planning to come to India. “Currently, Japan is celebration the year 2022 as the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. India also is celebrating 75th year of its independence. After five years, Japan will also celebrate 75th year of diplomatic ties with India, Kunihiko Kawazu said.
Kenichiro Toyofuku, Director, Corporate Planning, Maruti Suzuki India, Shigekazu Suenaga, Chairman, Toray Industries (India), Tsuneya Katagiri, India Head, All Nippon Airways (ANA), and Shusuke Suto, Managing Director, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries also participate in this grand golfing event which is turning out to become a symbol of friendship between India and Japan.
Senior Indian government and public sector undertaking (PSU) functionaries representing Niti Ayog, Invest India (Japan Plus), Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL), Container Corporation India Limited (CCIL), International Infrastructure Finance Corporation Limited (IIFCL), Income Tax Department, DRDO, Ministry of Defence, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), and others would participate in the event.
