NEW DELHI: In a significant development in the Indo-East Asian diplomatic circles, Sardar Jagdip Singh, Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Korea for the States of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir & Union Territory of Chandigarh, and Chairman, SIGMA Group of Companies has consented to join ACN Advisory Board, as Honorary Advisor.
An offshoot of the Asian Community News (ACN) Network, the ACN Advisory Board welcomes Sr Singh to this Asian think tank and advocacy & media group with an impressive representation from East Asian expats communities including Korean, Japanese, Taiwanese and Indian. With Sr. Singh coming onboard, the ACN Advisory Board is all set to greatly benefit from his rich experience and insightful ideas and thoughts.
Sr. Singh is the second South Koreas Honorary Consul General in India to join ACN Advisory board as Honorary Consul General of ROK, Telangana Mr. Suresh Chukkapalli is already onboard. The Korean government has appointed 5 Indian personalities who have contributed immensely in promoting India-South Korea bilateral relations as Honorary Consul Generals in India. They operate from their respective Honorary Consulates in their regions.
Born on November 5, 1944, Sr. Jagdip Singh is a distinguished businessman and industrialist. He embarked on his career at a young age and, through sheer dedication, vision, and entrepreneurial spirit, founded the Sigma Group of Industries.
As the Chairman of the Sigma Group, Sr. Singh led the company to prominence in the automobile components manufacturing sector, serving major car, truck, and bus manufacturers across India, Germany, and the USA.
The Group also had Sigma Vibracoustic India Pvt. Ltd. and Sigma Freudenberg NOK Pvt. Ltd., joint ventures of Sigma with Vibracoustic and Freudenberg of Germany and NOK of Japan, in its fold till sometime back.
Due to its large manufacturing base and reach, Sigma is considered as one of the largest and well-respected groups in the field of Automobile components manufacturing. The Group employs over 4000 people in its manufacturing facilities located in the State of Haryana and has a manufacturing facility and marketing office in Chicago, USA.
Sigma Group is one of the largest Exporters of Automobile components in the country and a government recognized Export House. It has been awarded more than 80 National Awards for promoting exports.
He achieved another milestone in his illustrious career when he was appointed as the Honorary Consul General of the Republic of the Republic of Korea for the States of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir & Union Territory of Chandigarh. A widely travelled man, S. Jagdip Singh is also a member of several prestigious Chambers of Commerce and Industries in India like FICCI, CII, ACMA, EEPC, PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry etc. and also various well-known Clubs like Delhi Golf Club, Royal Springs Golf Course, Srinagar, India International Centre, India Islamic & Cultural Centre and several others in the country.
The humanitarian and public-spiritedness aspect of the personality of S. Jagdip Singh is equally effective and strong.
