NEW DELHI: Haryana’s apex schools body with a strong representation of 235 CBSE and ICSE affiliated schools across the state, Haryana Progressive School’s Conference (HPSC) organized first of it’s kind Annual Conference titled “EduVision 2020” on Thursday at Hotel Taj Palace in Delhi.
The conference, apart from educationists and professionals from all over Haryana, was also attended by people from industry and other walks of life.
S.S. Gosain, President HSPC said that the objective of the conference was to put forward the important points that need to be incorporated in the education policy of Haryana.
Col. Kr Pratap Singh, Senior Vice President HPSC said that while the current government is positive in incorporating most of the suggestions of the conference, the module of RTE and section 134 need to be amended at par with the practical aspects.
HPSC that represents 106 schools from Faridabad and 66 from Gurugram has been actively vocal as well as critical of the state and central government education policies and has also influenced the decision making the process of the education department in the larger interest of education, schools and students alike.
Suresh Chander, Vice President Faridabad chapter informed that about 500 educationists from all over the Haryana have traveled to Delhi to participate in this conference. He said that earlier HSPC used to organize annual conferences on the district level only.
However, in order to discuss the common issues on a single platform. It is also ensured that stakeholders from the government are also present in the event to understand the issues and explore the possibilities of a smoother education system.
Dipin Rao, General Secretary HPSC said that there are few points that need to be amended in the education policy of Haryana. He said that while the other states allow recognition of school up to senior secondary level on a plot of half an acre, the policy of Haryana provides for several acres to start a school. This not only needs to shell multi crores but would not get starting of school up to the secondary level in one go. He said that regulations need to incorporate the vertical expansion of schools.
Spread over a number of penal discussions the panelists discussed every aspect not only of academics but of all-round development of the personality of a child.
Present on the occasion was Kanwar Pal Gujjar, minister of education Haryana and two times MLA from Jagadhari constituency. President HSPC S.S.Gosain informed the gathering strengths of the Minister followed by Suresh Chander sharing the problems faced by the educational institutions in the state.
Minister, in his address, appreciated the contribution of private educational institutions in the spread of education in the state. He said that the private institutions are a partner with the government in spreading education. He agreed to the point raised about the abrupt declaration of holidays being declared by the government. He assured all support that can be made possible in making the education system seamless in the state.
Speakers and panelists included Dr. Biswajit Saha Director, Training and Skill Education, CBSE, Gurcharan Das renowned author, Rakshit Tandon, Raj Nehru Vice-Chancellor Shri Vishwakarma Skill University Haryana, Air Vice Marshall LN Sharma AVSM, Rajiv Chawla Chairman IamSmeof India, Dr. Jitendra Nagpal mental health specialist, Kishore Asthana, Dr. Satyam Bhardwaj Controller Examination CBSE, Manjit Singh taking care of sports policy CBSE. Some of the educationists present were Rajtheep Singh, Vijayluxmi Sharma, Anil Rawal, Narender Parmar along with many more.
Veteran educationists and school directors and principals present on the occasion included Suman Gulati, Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools; Anita Makkar, Education Leader and Principal, HDFC School; Aparna Arry, Principal DAV Public School; Nirmal Yadav, Principal, CCA School; Aditi Misra, Principal, Delhi Public School, Gurugram and others.
