Starting today: Year-long events to celebrate 70th Anniversary of India-Japan Diplomatic Relations by IJBC

PUNE (Maharashtra): As the year 2022 holds crucial significance for India and Japan in terms of this being the 70^th anniversary year of the establishment of the diplomatic relation between the two countries, the Indo-Japan Business Council (IJBC) would on January 17 roll out the year-long activity calendar to celebrate the occasion.

Dr. Fukahori Yasukata, Consul-General of Japan in Mumbai would deliver the inaugural address marking the launch of the year-long festivities.  Considering the spread of the Covid-19 disease, all the events including the launching ceremony would be organised in virtual mode. These events can be viewed on the Zoom platform, and also on YouTube channels as the same would be streamed live.    

Supported by the Consulate General of Japan in Mumbai, the IJBC of Konnichiwa Pune fame, will organize Lecture Series, Interviews and Fireside Chats, Sectorial Panel Discussions, Cultural Shows, MSME Matchmaking, regional events, and a possible delegation to Japan, in addition to its flagship annual event Konnichiwa Pune in November.

IJBC is an industry association focusing on exploring business, trade, commerce, and cultural opportunities between India and Japan with a vision to encourage people-to-people connection, enhancing business and economic relations between India and Japan, and branding India as an attractive investment destination for the Japanese industry.

 “This year Konnichiwa Pune will come out bigger and better, and very diversified mode. We are going to start event series which will celebrate India-Japan diplomatic relations in a special year when we are completing 70 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. We must celebrate it with a lot of diversity and different topics, and challenges. We will discuss them the entire year,” said Siddharth Deshmukh, President of Indo-Japan Business Council (IJBC).

Siddharth Deshmukh said the series of events planned throughout the year 2022 could be viewed by lakhs of people not only from India, Japan but also from across the world.

Besides the inaugural address by Dr. Fukahori Yasukata, Consul-General of Japan in Mumbai, the launch event of IJBC on January 17 would witness a special address by the IJBC president Siddharth Deshmukh who will not introduce the event and roll out the itinerary of the year-long events for 2022, he will also disclose the significant agreements this organisation has signed with many prestigious entities. He will also disclose the names of the eminent speakers who are going to participate in this event to deliver their respective addresses.  

In November, the IJBC had successfully organised the Konnichiwa Pune 2021 event in virtual mode and it was viewed by more than 50,000 people of multiple nationalities from India, Japan, and other Asian and European countries, as well as the USA.
