India needs to be a skill developed, healthy nation; says Commerce Minister during INBUSH 2019

Amity International Business School (AIBS) started its annual prestigious and Mega-International Research Conference – 19th INBUSH ERA World Summit, from 20th to 22nd February, 2019 on the theme “Honoring the Past, Treasuring the Present and Shaping the Future – Global Leaders of Today and Tomorrow” at Amity University, Uttar Pradesh, Noida Campus.

The Conference witnessed discussions and deliberations by leading Academicians, Diplomats and Corporate Leaders from India and abroad including USA, UK, Australia, Sweden, Malaysia, Singapore, Ecuador, Jordon, Afghanistan, Italy etc. during the inauguration. During the 3-day conference, several Excellence Awards were conferred to personages who have made their mark in various fields

Welcoming the distinguished galaxy of delegates from across the globe, Prof. (Dr.) Gurinder Singh, Amity Group Vice Chancellor and Director General – AIBS & Amity University, Greater Noida  said that Leaders are dreamers and are passionate about their dreams. The agenda of this conference is to assess how the leaders of the past became successful and to propagate their ways and methods to the young generation. Leaders of past and present surely visualized the something that others didn’t. “We at Amity have a dream to make significant contribution in the lives of the youngsters”, he added.

Dr. Ashok Chauhan, Founder President, Amity University Group, thanked the delegates and dignitaries from various countries for being present on the occasion and motivating the students by their words of wisdom. He told the students that quick implementation was the mantra of his success.

 

Minister C. R. Chaudhary, Minister of State for the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Minister of State of the Department of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Government of India, said that it was a proud moment for him to join the eminent dignitaries. He said that Amity is known among the best universities of the world. The theme on which the session is based is the need of the hour. I appreciate the organizers for choosing this topic. He beckoned the students to take “Yesterday as an experience, Today as an experiment and Tomorrow as an expectation.”  Hopefully India could be the world guru in 21st century. According to him, for a country to develop it needs to increase its production with quality with proper marketing techniques and at the same time generating ample employment opportunities. India needs to be skilled developed and a healthy nation. In ease of doing business, India has climbed from 142 position to 77th position, for a nation to develop there needs to be change in mindset and elimination of weak points.

Onkar Kanwar, Chairman & Managing Director, Apollo Tyres Limited said, “I am humbled by the award that I am getting from Amity which is a place of excellence.” Sharing his success story with the students he said that perseverance and patience are the two major keys in getting success.  He exclaimed that true leaders are always humble and down to earth, therefore no matter how successful you are always and respectful towards others.

Dr. Inderjit Singh Dhaliwal Chairman, NTU Board of Trustees, Singapore expressed “We at Singapore have been trying to develop an innovation driven economy and we want the same to happen in India as well.” He talked about the healthy relationship that India and Singapore have developed over years.

Talking about the bilateral relationship between India and Canada, H.E Nadir Patel, High Commissioner of Canada, said that from education point of view both the countries have helped each other numerous times. Mr. Patel discussed with the students several points on leadership which could help them in their careers. These were –

“Amity Global Academic Excellence Awards” were conferred upon Dr. Inderjit Singh Dhaliwal, Chair, NTU Board of Trustees; Prof. Jean- Michel Nicolle, President “N+I” Institutes and Director General, EPF Sceaux, France; Dr. Shafiullah Naimi, President, APUIHEA, Afghanistan; Dr. Shahnawaz | Director (S & SE Asia), UNIGIS International, Austria and Prof. Dawn Freshwater, Vice Chancellor, University of Western Australia Award to be received by Prof. Kadambot Siddique.

On the occasion, Onkar Kanwar, Chairman & Managing Director, Apollo Tyres was honored with the Amity Lifetime Achievement Award.

“Amity Lifetime Achievement Award & Gold Medal for Fostering Diplomatic Relations with India” were conferred to H.E. Nadir Patel High Commissioner of Canada and Serge Thierry Mandoukou Ombegue, Counsellor in Charge of Cultural Questions, Embassy of Gabon. Prof. Carol Smidts, The Ohio State University, Columbus, USA and Prof. A. Srividya, Lulea Technical University, Sweden were conferred with Honorary Professorships.

Amity Corporate Excellence Award for Best CSR Practices was bestowed to Mr. Rattan Keswani, Deputy Managing Director, Lemon Tree Hotels. Amity Corporate Excellence Award for Innovation in Aviation Industry was given to G.K. Chaukiyal, Executive Director (Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS)-UDAN), Airports Authority of India

Amity Excellence Award for Best Practices in Construction & Infrastructure Development was bestowed to Sh. S K Chaudhary, Chairman & Managing Director, IRCON International Ltd.

Amity Corporate Excellence Award was conferred to Ravindra Chaudhary, CEO Patanjali Food and Herbal Park and Vice president Patanjali Ayurved Ltd. Amity Global Excellence Award for contribution in Robotics and AI was given to Dr Amit Pandey
