Indian girl wins Japanese language proficiency award in Japan
TOKYO: Ms. Sanjana, a technical intern from India has done her country proud by winning a coveted “Excellent’ Category” award in Japan.
Sanjana, who has been working as a caregiver worker in Japan since 2019, won this Japanese language proficiency award by emerging a winner out of 2,600 contestants from across the world.
A technical intern trained under the ‘Technical Intern Training Program’ (TITP), Sanjana, won this award in the 29th Foreign Technical Intern Trainee / Trainee Japanese Composition Contest”, organized by the ‘Japanese International Trainee & Skilled Worker Cooperation Organization’ (JITCO) recently.
Trained in India by one of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC)’s empaneled Sending Organizations, ‘Learnet Skills’, Sanjana won the ‘Excellent’ Category award ( second prize category) and received a commendation letter from JITCO along with a cash award of 30,000 JPY as her winning prize.
The competition is held every year to improve Japanese language proficiency among foreign technical interns, and this time it received over 2600 applications from countries such as China, Vietnam, and Indonesia.
Contestants were asked to submit a hand-written essay each in the Japanese language, and JITCO selected 27 winners after a rigorous screening process (4 First Prize winners, 4 Second Prize winners, and 19 Third Prize winners).
Sanjana went to Japan in 2019 and is working as a care worker in Japan.
The technical interns placed by Learnet Skills Limited, formerly known as IL&FS Skills Development Corporation in Japan, had received training under TITP in Geriatric Care course in India before entering Japan.
They were also oriented towards the Japanese culture, customs, and tradition in addition to the Japanese language skills as part of their training in India.

Its technical interns Ms. Anchal from Sonepat, Haryana, and Ms. Pranita Thapa from Darjeeling, West Bengal, made the news headlines early this year for successfully pursuing their career as interns in Japan, and earning handsome remuneration packages.
Currently, they are working in the city of Nagasaki at a leading caregiving facility, where they are drawing a monthly package of around 1.6 Lakhs JPY with a provision of paid accommodation support and other perks.
