Indo-Utsav in Korea on August 14-15: ISRK arranges a visit to Gwangju and Boseong
Independence Day celebrations: India and South Korea
SEOUL: As India is all set to celebrate its 76th Independence Day on August 15, 2022, on this great occasion, the Seoul-based Indian Students & Researchers in Korea (ISRK) association presents its yearly event “Indo-Utsav”.
Since it’s a very happy coincidence that India shares its Independence Day (15th August 1947) with that of South Korea (15th August 1945), the ISRK, the association of over 3500 researchers, scholars, and students in Korea aims to celebrate this together with the people of Korea.
“Indo-Utsav” which translates to “Indian Festival” is a two-week festival where participants through music, dance, and artwork will showcase cultural glimpses of India and South Korea on ISRK social media platforms from 28th July to 12th August 2022.
“Following this, We are also having a Temple stay, Gwangju and Boseong tour on 14th and 15th August for all Indians from different parts of Korea. The closing and the main event will take place on the 15th of August, 1: 30 pm at GIST, Gwangju, where everyone will get to enjoy selected live performances along with some delicious Indian food. We are also happy to let you know this will be the first offline event of Indo-Utsav,” said Lailesh Kumar, President, ISRK.
“We believe that events like ‘Indo-Utsav’ would strengthen the bond between Indian and South Korean communities and will be a great platform to celebrate and appreciate each other’s cultures,” he added.
ISRK is fortunate enough to be always supported by the Indian Ambassador to Korea as well as the Korean Ambassador to India for most of its events and like every time, for this year also, we plan on either having them physically present at the event or send in their pre-recorded messages.
Enclosed are the details about the Indo-Utsav event. The complete program agenda will be shared with you after receiving your acceptance. With sincere anticipation that you will accept our invitation, we thank you for taking out your precious time to read our letter.
