Intercultural facilitator Dr. Eun-joo Lim, Director, Indo-Korean Center, Pune joins ACN Advisory Board, an Asian Think Tank

An offshoot of the Asian Community News (ACN) Network, the ACN Editorial Advisory Board brings the experts from East Asian countries together on a common platform for strengthening the Indo-Asian relationship and bilateral ties through the media and advocacy.

NEW DELHI. Dr. Eun-joo Lim, Director, Indo-Korean Center, Pune has come on board ACN Editorial Advisory Board, an Asian think tank, as an Honorary Board Member.

Dr. Lim is an energetic intercultural facilitator with a Ph.D. in Indology adding a blend of Korean culture and language. She owns more than two decades of experience in multiple facets of Intercultural facilitation and has been an intercultural program planner, Korean language teacher, Kathak dancer with a zeal for cross-cultural synergies.

Dr. Lim came to India in 2002 to learn Indian culture, especially spirituality through dance form, and she owns an Overseas Citizen of Indian (OCI) status as well.

While accepting the ACN invitation, Dr. Lim said, “It’s an honor for me to be accepted on ACN Editorial Advisory Board. I will try to work for beautiful cultural exchanges and communication for a closer relationship between Korea and India and Asian countries.”

Living in Pune for two decades now, she conducted several experiments and made new attempts besides teaching Korean. She learned Kathak dance for more than 10 years and performed in India and Korea besides hosting K-pop concerts to spread the Korean Wave (Hallyu) in Indian cities i.e. Pune, Delhi, Imphal, and Nagaland.

Dr. Lim founded Indo-Korean Center (IKC) in collaboration with MITCON Foundation in Balewadi, Pune in March 2021. The center provides Korean language and culture education and currently, more than a hundred students from all over India are studying here.

Recently IKC’s project developed a training course for the translators who can translate Korean cultural content such as movies and animations into Hindi. This project has been selected to receive support from the Academy of Korean Studies under the Ministry of Education of South Korea.

Prior to establishing IKC, Dr. Lim worked as an Administrator and teacher at the King Sejong Institute, Pune. She is also CEO and Director with Kiwa Enterprises and Kiwa Consultants respectively. Previously she taught Korean at The Bishops Co-Ed. School, POSCO-Maharashtra, Korean Languages Culture, Symbiosis Institute of Foreign Language, Pune, and many other institutions of repute.

She did her Ph.D. in Indology from  Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth and Diploma in Indian Dance Theory (tiya Shastra) from Nalanda Dance Research Centre, Mumbai. She did her master’s from Women’s Studies, Dangduk Women’s University, and graduated in German Language & Literature, from Dongduk Women’s University.

ACN Editorial Advisory Board welcomes Dr. Lim to this Think Tank, which is all set to get greatly benefitted from her rich experience in the field of cultural exchange between India and South Korea.

The Board plans to take the delegation of its members to various heads of state/union governments to discuss various Indo-Asian matters, prepare Advisory Document and submit the same to the government.

ACN Editorial Advisory Board also offers an opportunity to participate in Webinars/Seminars organized by ACN in which the government representatives/bureaucrats/ministers/Corporate leaders, Academicians/intellectuals from various countries could be invited to participate.
