Invest KOREA Summit 2023 set to take off on Nov 6 in Busan

NEW DELHI/BUSAN: This year’s mega global trade promotion event ‘Invest KOREA Summit 2023’, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), will take off at BEXCO in Busan on November 6 and continue till November 8. This 3-day event will provide an opportunity for Korean companies to meet in person with over 200 foreign investors in the fields of semiconductors, future cars, secondary batteries, buyers, and energy, visiting Korea from over 10 countries, including the United States, Europe, Japan, and China. Furthermore, the summit will serve as a platform for discussion, including high-ranking government officials, local authorities, and many other participants.

Some of the large corporations that are scheduled to participate in the Invest KOREA Summit include the world’s largest semiconductor equipment manufacturer company Applied Materials – AMAT, the world’s largest cathode material manufacturer Umicore, the world’s largest wind turbine manufacturer Vestas, the US semiconductor manufacturer, and 4th largest in the world Lam Research, and many more. Major Korean corporates such as Samsung Electronics, Samsung SDI, Samsung Biologics, Hyundai Motor Group, Doosan Enerbility, and others.

According to the organizers, the Invest KOREA Summit has evolved into Korea’s largest investment promotion event on 19 occasions. The Invest KOREA Summit, which started as ‘Foreign Investment Week’ in 2006, has evolved into Korea’s largest investment promotion event over 19 occasions. Invest KOREA does not stop here and aims to take this event to the next level.

TaeHyung Kim, Commissioner of Invest KOREA, says, “Last year, foreign direct investment (FDI) in Korea reached a record high. I believe this achievement was possible thanks to Korea’s strong fundamentals and enhanced status, which was accomplished through K-Contents, also known as K-Culture. By converging its manufacturing industry and information technology, Korea is revolutionizing the industrial landscape. The country is becoming an ideal test bed, especially with high-tech industries such as battery, bio, and chip.”

Established within the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), the Invest KOREA (IK) is a national investment promotion agency whose aim is to support the establishment of foreign businesses in Korea. Invest KOREA promotes Korea’s investment environment abroad and provides comprehensive services to foreign companies ranging from consultations, notifications of investments, establishment of corporations, support for business activities to complaint handling to foreign companies doing business here.

According to Invest Korea, through this event, participants will be able to take part in one-on-one meetings with each other, as well as various programs designed to create valuable networking opportunities.
