Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosts ACN Advisory Board Meeting in its office

NEW DELHI: Japan’s apex trade and industry organization the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in India (JCCII) recently facilitated the ACN Editorial Advisory Board meeting at its office in New Delhi.
The honorary members of the ACN Editorial Advisory Board, an Asian think tank of industry and community leaders, educationists, diplomats, entrepreneurs, and intellectuals from across many Asian nations including Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and India joined the meeting in person as well as online.
The meeting was convened to discuss various initiatives the ACN Advisory Board is planning to take to celebrate the year 2022 as the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between India and Japan.

Led by Mr. Sanjeev K Ahuja, the ACN Editorial Advisory Board is an offshoot of Asian Community News Network, a news-media and advocacy platform that has been promoting Indio-Asian affairs with a prime focus on East Asian countries including Japan for many years now. It regularly highlights and promotes the interests of Asian countries, and strengthen bilateral ties with India in all spheres i.e. art, culture, language, education, diplomatic relations, and trade, commerce & industry in India.
With a representation of more than 450 Japanese companies and Japanese government institutions in India, the JCCII now operates from its new location in Green Park in New Delhi. Led by Mr. Kenji Sugino, Secretary-General, the JCCII office is equipped with the modern audio-video communication gadgets and other office paraphernalia.
While welcoming the ACN Editorial Advisory board members to his office, Mr. Sugino said that the India-Japan bilateral relations were all set to scale newer heights, especially after the recent first visit to India of Japan Prime Minister Mr. Fumio Kishida who pledged an investment of five trillion yen ($42 billion) over the next five years in India.
The JCCIII Secretary-General said that the new target follows and exceeds the 3.5 trillion yen in investments and financing that then Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe had announced for the five years between 2014 and 2019 during his 2014 visit to India.
Since 2006, the JCCII has worked as a pivotal organization working towards the welfare of Japanese companies in India. Having started with around 100 member companies in 2006, today the organization has grown to a membership more than 450 companies mostly in and around Delhi NCR.
