ACN to host grand “Japan-India Maitri Golf Cup 2024” during Japan Month in October

Oct 19, 2024 (Saturday): This commemorative friendly golf & networking event is the part of the ‘Japan Month’, the Japan Embassy, New Delhi, JCCII, JF, JNTO, JETRO, and Japan Association Delhi are collectively organizing during Sep-Oct 2024 across India.

NEW DELHI: The Delhi NCR is all set to witness the “Japan-India Maitri Golf Cup 2024” on 19th October when Japanese and Indian golfers including top diplomats, bureaucrats, corporate & industry leaders, and entrepreneurs from both sides play golf in a friendly atmosphere to give impetus to India-Japan bilateral relations.

Being organized by Asian Community News Network (ACN Network), the event is the part of the ‘Japan Month’, which the Executive Committee comprising Japan Embassy, New Delhi, the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in India (JCCII), Japan Foundation New Delhi (JFND), Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), and Japan Association Delhi is organizing during September-October 2024 across India.

Glimpse of 70th Anniversary India Japan Friendship Golf in 2022

The “Japan-India Maitri Golf Cup 2024” event would involve Japanese and Indian golfers playing together during the day time followed by a gala “Prize Distribution & Award Ceremony Dinner” the same evening.

Besides Japanese and Indian golfers playing together in mixed-4-ball settings, the evening would witness a fusion of Indo-Japan culture involving Indian and Japanese cultural performances, and food and beverages (Sake & Shochu).

According to Sanjeev K Ahuja, Founder & Editor-in-Chief/CEO of Asian Community News Network (ACN Network) – a JCCII member media company, “The event “Japan-India Maitri Golf Cup 2024” has been conceptualised to align with the very theme of the ‘Japan Month’ that aims at advancing bilateral relations between India and Japan across multiple areas, including politics, security, economics and culture. The “70th Anniversary India-Japan Friendship Golf Cup”, was organized with the active support and participation of the Embassy of Japan, New Delhi, the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in India (JCCII), Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), and Aju group of Japanese hotels to make it a huge success.

This golfing event played at the Golden Greens Golf Course in 2022 was attended by the former Haryana Chief Minister Dushyant S Chautala, and Kunihiko Kawazu san, Minister & Deputy Chief of Mission, and the then Charge d’affairs Ad Interim, Embassy of Japan, and Kenji Sugino, Secretary-General, Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in India (JCCII) among other dignitaries.

As many as 70 Japanese diplomats, top corporate executives and entrepreneurs, and 38 senior Indian bureaucrats and industry leaders joined the event.

The event offered an excellent opportunity to Indian industry leaders and senior bureaucrats to interact closely with top Japanese counterparts including diplomats.

Many senior bureaucrats from the top government organisations including NITI Ayog, India Infrastructure Finance Company Limited, Northern Railways, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Defence, and many others are likely to attend the event.
