Japanese Consulate officials visit Puri, interact with students learning Jap language
PURI (ODISHA): Two senior functionaries from the Consulate General of Japan, Kolkata visited Puri on Tuesday to interact with the students learning Japanese language and culture.
Ms. Risa Tamura, Vice Consul (Cultural Affairs) and Supratik Sil Roy, Press & Media Officer, both from the Consulate General of Japan in Kolkata visited Chandra Sekhar Academy and Techno India-Chandra Sekhar Academy (TICSA). Later they also went to the Golden Triangle (Puri-Konark-Bhubaneswar).
Odisha and three other states – West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Bihar come under the jurisdiction of the Consulate General of Japan in Kolkata.
According to Kunna Dash, the founder, the Chandra Sekhar Academy owns the distinction of being the only school in Odisha where Japanese language & culture was being taught as an elective subject from Nursery to Senior Secondary (+2) level. The A-level NIELIT course is also taught to the students of TICSA too.
On reaching the school, Ms. Risa Tamura was impressed to see the prayer class in an eco-friendly environment followed by students’ news & thought in the morning assembly.
The Japanese song, ‘ Shiawase nara te wo tatakou ‘ says if you’re happy & you know it, clap your hands -mesmerized Ms. Risa Tamura by listening to the notes of young nymphs. She got much impressed with the conversational self-intro mimicry in Japanese language and etiquette.
After this, the duo went to Techno India-Chandra Sekhar Academy (TICSA) where she saw students being taught A-level NIELIT course which has its global exposure especially in Japan and Japanese companies.
She exhorted the students to complete this course at the earliest to get ready for a lucrative career in Japanese companies in Japan or in India.
Ms. Risa Tamura had a lot of fun especially with children while visiting the Japanese language center for children and adults. She was impressed by the students speaking flawless Japanese.
She was all praise for Kunna Dash, the International Tourism Ambassador of Kyoto for his 30-years relentless effort in acting as a bridge between India and Japan.
On her way to the Golden Triangle (Puri-Konark-Bhubaneswar), she relished passing through the long stretch of Marine Drive and enjoyed the panoramic view on either side, mostly to the blue sea on her right.
She also was impressed over the age-old Buddhist monuments and shrines expressing her satisfaction over world-class tourism sites with their kaleidoscopic views.
