Japanese Film Festival Online Returns with 23 films and 2 TV dramas in June 

For the first time, JFF Online will include two TV dramas, "Downtown Rocket" and "Riku-Oh," which depict inspiring stories of hard work and ambition.

New Delhi, May 28, 2024 – The Japan Foundation New Delhi announces the return of the Japanese Film Festival (JFF) Online 2024, set to captivate audiences from June 5 to July 3, 2024. This edition will feature a diverse lineup of 23 films and, for the first time, two popular Japanese TV dramas, all available for free streaming with English subtitles on the JFF official website.

The festival will be free for all and will be available with English subtitles on the JFF official
website, after the initial step of registering a free account.

The festival includes notable titles such as “We Made a Beautiful Bouquet,” one of Japan’s top-grossing films of 2021, and “Baby Assassins,” known for its action-packed plot. Other highlights include “The Zen Diary,” “The Lines That Define Me,” “Father of the Milky Way Railroad,” and “School Meals Time Graduation,” showcasing various facets of Japanese culture.

The festival will feature the world premiere of the 4K digitally remastered version of the classic anime “Jungle Emperor Leo” (also known as “Kimba the White Lion”), a masterpiece by renowned animator Tezuka Osamu.

For the first time, JFF Online will include two TV dramas, “Downtown Rocket” and “Riku-Oh,” which depict inspiring stories of hard work and ambition.

Viewers will have access to exclusive interviews with film directors and other offline events, enhancing the festival experience.

This year, JFF Online will expand its distribution to a record number of countries and regions, offering films and TV dramas in multiple languages to reach a broader audience.

All content will be available for free after registering a free account on the JFF official website.

Films will be available from June 5 to June 19, 2024, and TV dramas from June 19 to July 3, 2024.
