Japanese Start-Ups look for Indian Investment, Collaboration
These Japanese startups wish to come to India with the larger objective of raising funds, expansion of their sales channels, conduct cooperative research, the establishment of their office, and research and development (R&D) centers in India.
NEW DELHI: Coming Wednesday, six Japanese startup companies in health-tech, edu-tech, and agri-tech sectors are pitching for Indian investment and collaborations during a live India online pitch event (インドオンラインピッチイベント).
To be organized jointly by Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and Indian Embassy in Tokyo, the event would also be providing the participating Japanese startup companies an opportunity to have one-to-one B2B interactions with the interested Indian venture capitalists (VCs), startups, and companies post their respective presentations.
These six Japanese startups are Green Science Alliance Co. Ltd., Sagri Co., Ltd., XPAND K. K., RESC, Ltd., RevComm, and Tierraponica Inc.
This event is in line with the long-run objective of enhancing two-way Indo-Japan bilateral collaboration in the start-up space leading to innovation, co-creation, and coproduction. According to the organizers, the six Japanese startups were shortlisted after close scrutiny.

The India Online Pitch Event (インドオンラインピッチイベント)would take off with the opening remarks by NAKAJO Kazuya, Executive Vice President, JETRO. Ms. Mona Khandhar, Minister (E&C), Embassy of India, Tokyo would be making the closing remarks.
Each of the participating Japanese start-up company would be given five minutes to make their pitch and three minutes for a question and answer session.
Green Science Alliance Co. Ltd is coming to make a pitch for raising funds, expansion of its sales channels, conduct cooperative research, establish an office, and R&D centers in India.
It claims to have research and develop cutting edge technology in the field of energy and environmentally friendly green science.

RevComm Inc presents MiiTel – a cloud IP Phone powered by a conversation intelligence platform that increases sales conversion rate while decreasing education and communication costs.
Another Japanese start-up Sagri Co. Ltd. provides solutions for social problems i.e food security, environmental problems through combining satellite data, grid data, ground big data. It is creating a combination of AI/ML, satellite data, and GRID data for delivering solutions.
Tierraponica Inc which is aiming to raise funds from Indian investors proposes a new type of circular agricultural model in which it uses organic matter instead of chemical fertilizers to cultivate hydroponic crops.
XPAND K. K. RESC, Ltd. creates smartly designed codes “XPAND Code” that can deliver information to the masses. It is a super contactless link tool for smartphones that can be used in conjunction with the QR Code. It complements the weaknesses of QR codes, such as harmony with the design, readability from long distances, and reliability of redirected content.
