Kampai goes places: Opens its new Japanese cuisine outlet at DLF Promenade, second in Delhi
An authentic Japanese culinary restaurant Kampai, which means ‘cheers’ in Japanese, plans to expand its footprint domestically and across borders such as Dubai and Dhaka, and to grow to 50 in number.
NEW DELHI: After serving irresistible Japanese delicacies to bon vivants in Aerocity, young restaurateur and entrepreneur, Avantika Sinha Bahl unveils the second outpost of her premium authentic Japanese cuisine restaurant, Kampai – Plate & Pour, at DLF Promenade, Vasant Kunj, with Hiroshi Suzuki, Ambassador of Japan to India. According to Ambassador Suzuki, Kampai is a first-of-its-kind Japanese restaurant that aims to promote modern Japanese cuisine. Ambassador’s wife Eiko Suzuki was also present on this occasion.
With this location, Kampai aims to make Japanese Cuisine more approachable. The formal inauguration event on March 13 commenced with a ribbon cutting ceremony by the Ambassador followed by a signing ceremony. The Ambassador was then welcomed by Ankur Chawla from Kampai. Talking about the launch, Hiroshi Suzuki said “Kampai is the most authentic Japanese restaurant serving delicious Japanese cuisine, so I hope that you will be able to enjoy good, authentic and delectable Japanese food here and I also hope you will come back, not just by yourself but also accompanied with your friends, your parents, and your family to have good Japanese food here”.
Ms. Avantika Sinha Bahl, the founder of Kampai, said, “This evening we have the Japanese Ambassador and Japanese delegates here and all the support that has been extended to us by the embassy. We are very excited today to be launching our second outlet and we have at least 50 more to go in the next few years. We look forward to a long association with the embassy and thank you so much for being here, have a lovely evening, KAMPAI!!”
The year 2023 looks to be very promising as the promoters are all set to expand their footprint and explore new markets like Bangalore and Gurgaon and International locations such as Dubai & Dhaka. Avantika Sinha’s aim is to make Kampai synonymous with Japanese cuisine Pan-India and globally.
The event was also graced by delegates from Japan and other embassies as well. A delectable dinner presenting the finest of Japanese cuisine was served to the guests, The bar offerings included a wide range of Japanese sakes, champagnes, whiskey and cocktails, especially the famous “Wabi Sabi” paired perfectly with their appetising specialities. An array of tempting Japanese bites was offered to every guest by beautifully dressed staff in Kimonos (traditional Japanese gown). The evening turned into a lively celebration with key respected personnel gathered for the launch of Kampai.
The special evening became a phenomenal success marked by gracious bonhomie.
