Kizuna 2024: Bridging Cultures Through the Spirit of Japan at JNU

New Delhi, November 20, 2024: The Centre for Japanese Studies, School of Language, Literature, and Culture Studies (SLL&CS), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), in collaboration with the Embassy of Japan in India, is all set to host Kizuna 2024, a dynamic cultural festival celebrating the vibrant traditions and modern artistry of Japan. The event, scheduled for Thursday, November 21, 2024, will take place at the Convention Centre, Auditorium I, JNU.

Kizuna 2024 aims to foster cultural appreciation and strengthen people-to-people ties between India and Japan. The festival offers a rich blend of activities and performances, showcasing the diverse aspects of Japanese culture. It serves as a unique platform for attendees to immerse themselves in Japan’s rich heritage while experiencing its contemporary expressions.

The day will begin with workshops running from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM, where participants can engage in traditional Japanese crafts, including Yukata demonstrations, Origami, and Calligraphy. Alongside these interactive sessions, the festival will feature “Furuhonichi,” a traditional book market offering a rare collection of Japanese texts and materials for enthusiasts and collectors.

In the afternoon, from 2:00 PM onwards, the festival will present stage performances by Japanese language institutions. These performances promise to capture the linguistic and artistic vibrancy of Japanese culture, providing an engaging experience for audiences of all ages.

The festival venue, the Convention Centre at JNU, will serve as a cultural hub for the day, welcoming visitors to explore and celebrate the enduring cultural ties between the two nations. Entry to the event is free, inviting everyone to be part of this unique celebration of friendship and artistic exchange between India and Japan.
