NEW DELHI: Keeping in line with the initiative by the Government of India on New Education Policy, which shall try to change the way education is imparted in different educational institutions in the country, KR Manglam University (KRMU) organized a day-long Education Summit on ‘Towards Meaningful Education: Redefining Goals & Pedagogies’ at India International Centre, New Delhi on Dec 23, 2019
The day-long event witnessed very diverse views on how we should teach, what should we teach and many more issues like training of the teachers, contextualizing the content and relation between content and outcome.
Prof. Dinesh Singh, Chancellor, KRMU started the day with his ideas about new pedagogies for imparting education in different streams of education.
His address was followed by four-panel discussions which were moderated by various educationists and most eminent personalities of the industry. Prof. Aditya Malik, Vice-Chancellor, KRMU expressed his views on the role of digital humanities in higher education.
Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof. Anita Sharma emphasized on good practices of education.
Vineet Joshi, Director General, National Testing Agency, expressed his concerns over the peer pressure and evaluation system of education.
Vinod Sood, Director, Hughes Systique also shared his ideas of what they expect from the students coming fresh out of various institutions with different specializations.
Prof Malashree, Former Dean Academics, Delhi University explained the tools which can complement modern education requirements. Principals of various schools raised the concern over requirements of higher education institutes of Professional excellence.
The onus of creating well-informed citizens is on the schools & higher education institutions as to how to take this forward and create an atmosphere of inclusive education where the role of student & teacher is equally important in shaping the future of our country.
The summit was organized with a thought of sharing views of industry experts who are working in different domains of the education field.
Principals, teachers, counselors & students of various schools and colleges were invited to the event.
