NEW DELHI: On Thursday, one more flight from South Korea carrying portable oxygen concentrators, ventilators, negative pressure carriers, and antigen detection kits arrived at the IGI Airport, New Delhi.
More medical supplies to fight the surging COVID-19 pandemic are reaching on Friday and Sunday (May 14 and 16) as the Government of the Republic of Korea is continuing with its emergency medical support to India to help it fight the surge in Covid-19 cases in the country.
More special flights containing a cumulative quantity of 100 portable oxygen concentrators, 10 ventilators, 100 negative pressure carriers, and 10,000 antigen detection kits (for 250,000 tests) will be arriving at IGI Airport, New Delhi, by May 16.
According to the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, these medical supplies will be donated to the Indian Red Cross Society for further distribution to hospitals and healthcare centers in the country.
It may be recalled that the Korean government had earlier sent two planes loads of medical supplies – 230 oxygen concentrators, 200 oxygen cylinders, and 100 negative pressure carriers – on 9th and 12th May.
The very first consignment of the medical supplies from South Korea, containing oxygen concentrators, oxygen cylinders with regulators, and negative pressure isolation stretchers had arrived at IGI Airport, New Delhi on May 9.
Shin Bongkil, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to India along with the Srinivas Gotru, UNES, Joint Secretary, and a representative from the Indian Red Cross Society had reached the airport on Sunday to formally receive the medical supplies.
Korea has committed to stand side by side with India in this hour of turmoil and will continue to extend its helping hand in fighting the menace of Covid -19 in the country.
