Korean language learning becomes cost-effective, the IBKP way: Global Diction Studio vows to reach out to masses
Gurugram: In its bid to make Korean language learning popular amongst the masses and reach it out to the youths opting to pursue Korean studies and look for career opportunities in the corporate world, a foreign language training institution in Gurugram has articulated a cost-effective course that focuses on class-oriented learning.
Rolled out by the multi-lingual institution Global Diction Studio in January, this Integrated Beginner’s Korean Program (IBKP) is designed especially for Korean language learners and its curriculum is based on TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) and provides in-depth knowledge of the Korean culture as well.
“The IBKP follows the WIRRLS methodology which primarily means learning based on Writing, Integration, Role-play, Reading, Listening, and Speaking. The most exciting part of this program is the Hanja classes,” said Sangeeta Yadav, Founder & Director, Global Diction Studio.
An authority in Korean and Mandarin languages, Sangeeta Yadav, elaborates further, “This is a personalized Korean language program that aims at providing a wholesome learning experience for the students with the perfect tips and tricks to understand and remember Korean is much more logical, practical and efficient way with the balance between both understanding and remembering. All of this would be provided to all the aspiring Korean learners in just INR 999/- per month.”
The institution has plans to launch the first batch of 25 students, and has offered to impart free-of-cost training to five underprivileged but deserving candidates, he added.
The language learning experience here is not only limited to books or audios but learning through videos, K-pop songs, K-dramas, stories, and folktales will also be implemented. This program is the introduction of the language from the basic alphabets to foundation level and commonly used vocabulary and grammar, where the learner is able to understand the context of various conversations.
This involves group skits, student-friendly doubt sessions, class presentations,s and study groups with the teachers including weekly assignments, tests, and feedback after the classes for better results in addition to course certification.

The rationale behind this big move by Global Diction Studio:
In the age of globalization, one nation can influence other nations in different ways. One of the ways is sharing and experiencing the culture of that land. The idea of culture can be defined as the customary beliefs, social forms, and material traits of a racial, religious, or social group.
Korea with its growing economy and cultural waves widely known as Hallyu primarily was known to Indian households through Samsung a familiar name in the Indian and world market which can also be said to be the introduction of Korea and Korean for many.
Long before our youth started acquiring the taste of K-Pop and K-Dramas their parents were most probably using a lot of Korean products without any knowledge and gradually this has been becoming a part of our daily lives where the netizens are trying out 10-step Korean skincare routine and binge-watching K-drama with the hot bowl of Korean noodles. Even long before all of this South Korea and India are connected with each other historically with the epic legend of Princess Sriratna (Suriratna) an Indian-born princess who moved to Korea and married King Kim Su-ro.
And now in the era of OTT platforms and globalization Korean has become of the fastest-growing languages and seeing its cultural impact on the people of Indian society has fascinated everyone. Korean language and culture fondness on different OTT platforms already created huge awareness among Indian learners and they need to polish this developing understanding. It has become a necessity for the Indians, especially students and professionals to be Korea-ready as many companies small, medium, or large are investing in the Indian economy and trying to break into the Indian market every second.
Currently, too we have more than 800 Korean companies set up in India. This economic investment is surely going to give an edge to the currently increasing fan following of the Korean language and culture. The economic aspect in this scenario can not be ignored and it is important for Indians to start having the understanding of Korean language and culture more than ever not just because of BTS or for understanding K-Dramas without subtitles but for having better job opportunities and financial stability. But as we all know learning a language can be a bit straining financially and taking out time in our chaotic and busy lifestyle can be a struggle too.
