Korean language to be taught in Swami Vivekananda Subharti University from this session

Swami Vivekananda Subharti University, Meerut and Indo Korea Business Culture Center (IKBCC) have signed an MoU to this effect.

MEERUT (Uttar Pradesh): Swami Vivekananda Subharti University, Meerut and Indo Korea Business Culture Center (IKBCC) have set a historic milestone by formalizing a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at promoting international collaboration and enhancing academic excellence.

Presiding over the MoU signing ceremony held in the Vice Chancellor’s Auditorium, Vice Chancellor Major General Dr. GK Thapliyal underlined the profound importance of this collaborative effort and informed about its mutual benefits for both the institutions. He said that between Swami Vivekananda Subharti University (SVSU) and Indo Korea Business Culture Center (IKBCC).

Academic and cultural exchanges as well as research activities, exchange programs for students and faculty and educational programs will be conducted through Korean and Hindi languages. Additionally, the objective of this agreement is to promote better educational and cultural relations between India and Korea.

They said that by starting Korean language courses in Subharti University, the educational experience of the students and their career prospects will be enhanced. Its collaboration will provide opportunities to faculty and students to engage in research and academic excellence. Programs and cultural exchanges would provide ample employment opportunities in Korean companies either in South Korea, in India or elsewhere.  The Korean language will be taught in the university from this session.

He said that Subharti University is enhancing the knowledge of its students through the mantra of education, service, values ​​and nationalism so that they can become efficient and work to the best of their ability in the interest of the country. He pledged to work together towards strengthening the relations between India and Korea.

Chief Executive Officer Dr. Shalya Raj sent his best wishes on the signing of MOU between Swami Vivekananda Subharti University (SVSU) and Indo Korea Business Culture Center (IKBCC). He said that Subharti University and Indo Korea Business Culture Center will jointly work for educational excellence. Dr. Zena Chung, Founder and President of Indo Korea Business Culture Center (IKBCC) expressed her gratitude to Swami Vivekananda Subharti University (SVSU) for signing the MoU.  She said that today the world is developing as a family, and India, being an ancient country with a renowned cultural history, is a country of youth.

She said that the campus of the Subharti university is a confluence of entire Indian culture and it reflects the dedication towards our nation. She said that the MoU will especially enhance the knowledge of the students and teachers of both the countries, due to which India and Korea will move towards development. They discussed in detail the various dimensions of joint activities envisaged under the MoU that includes collaborative language, research, student and faculty exchanges and joint development of educational programs.

Dr. Zena Chung expressed confidence that this MoU will contribute significantly to the academic development of both the institutions. The MoU signing ceremony was formally supported by Group Captain Mohammad Yacob, Registrar of Swami Vivekananda Subharti University (SVSU) and Dr. Zena Chung, Founder and Director of Indo Korea Business Culture Center (IKBCC).  On this occasion, Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Abhay Shankar Gowda, Principal Engineering College Dr. Manoj Kapil, Principal of Faculty of Fine Arts Dr. Pintu Mishra, Dr. Shravan Kumar, Prof. AK Tyagi, Head of Language Department Dr. Seema Sharma, Head of Department of Buddhist Studies Dr. Chandrakirti, Dr. Rafat Khanam etc. became a witness to the program.

Swami Vivekanand Subharti University (SVSU), located in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India, was founded in 2008 by Dr. Atul Krishna. With approximately 10,000 students and over 300 faculty members, SVSU boasts modern facilities and a spacious campus. Offering undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in various fields of study, SVSU excels particularly in medicine, dentistry, nursing, law, management, technology, arts, and humanities.

On the other hand, the Indo Korea Business Culture Center (IKBCC) was established in both Korea and India in 2023 to enhance relations between the two countries, specifically in business, education, culture, and medical exchanges. Additionally, IKBCC welcomes members not only from the Indian and Korean communities within India and Korea but also from non-resident Indians (NRIs) and the Korean diaspora worldwide.

Meanwhile, the Indo Korea Business Culture Center has signed MOUs with several top national, state, and prestigious private universities in India, in addition to Swami Vivekanand Subharti University. These institutions include Mata Sundri College for Women at the University of Delhi and Shri Vishwakarma Skill University run by Haryana State Government. The agreements involve not only the establishment of Korean language courses but also the creation of academic and industry-related skill development courses connected to Korea.
