Korean NH Nonghyup Bank provides 100,000 USD worth of medical supplies to India to fight Coronavirus
Korean oxygen concentrators, related medical supplies donated by NH Bank will be deployed in Ladakh and used to treat local patients there.
NEW DELHI: In addition to the South Korean government that is assisting India in overcoming the Covid-19 pandemic by supplying oxygen concentrators, cylinders, stretchers, and other equipment, the Korean private sector companies with their offices in India too have stepped forwards and offered their assistance to the ailing people of India.
Recently, South Korea’s NH Nonghyup Bank has sent oxygen concentrators and other related medical supplies worth $100,000 urgently to India to help it overcome the corona pandemic.
The material will be handed over to the Indian Red Cross Society.
According to NH Nonghyup Bank, in response to a report from the NH Bank’s New Delhi representative office that India’s corona patients lacked oxygen supply, the company headquarter made a swift decision and decided to offer its support to provide practical comfort to the people of India.
According to the Government of India (Ministry of Health and Family Welfare), the oxygen concentrators and related medical supplies donated by NH Bank will be deployed in Ladakh (UT) and used to treat local patients there.
Some of them were also sent to the diplomatic pouch on May 26 through the Embassy of the Republic of Korea (Delhi), the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Chennai and Mumbai for the purpose of supporting Korean citizens who are striving to improve the India-Korea economic cooperation in various regions of India.
While NH Bank is preparing to open the Noida branch, it has continued social contribution activities including support for local elementary schools.
Meanwhile, donations from leading Korean manufacturing companies in India such as Samsung, Hyundai, and LG have been continued, but such donations by NH Nonghyup Bank, which has not yet started a financial business in India, are seen as more special.
Recently, one Korean company Seoul Semiconductor too provided Mobile Air Purifiers, hi-end masks, gloves, and PPE kits worth about Rs. 7.5 crores to the state government of Karnataka to fight the COVID-19 pandemic there.
