KOSME Launches Korean Corporate Competency Training Program to Connect Indian Talent with Korean SMEs
The program aims to equip Indian university graduates with essential skills and knowledge for careers in Korean companies, offering a unique blend of training, recruitment opportunities, and corporate insights.
NEW DELHI. 26th September, 2024: KOSME, the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency, has recently launched an exclusive training initiative, the Korean Corporate Competency Training Program, aimed at enhancing the skills of Indian university graduates who aspire to work with Korean companies. The program is tailored to meet the growing demand for cross-cultural understanding and corporate competency as Korean firms continue their global expansion, with a specific focus on the Indian market.
KOSME, known for providing flexible workspaces, technology services, and a collaborative community for startups and small to medium enterprises (SMEs), has broadened its scope with this new initiative. Through its mission to create environments where innovation and growth can flourish, KOSME also supports Korean SMEs in entering foreign markets by building vibrant communities. This includes organizing networking events, workshops, and social activities, helping Korean companies establish roots in India and connect with talented local professionals.
The Korean Corporate Competency Training Program is designed to bridge the gap between Korean corporate expectations and Indian talent. Spread over six dynamic sessions, the program will introduce participants to key elements of Korean corporate culture, technology, and business ethics, essential for working in Korean companies. It aims not only to enhance participants’ skills but also to prepare them for employment opportunities in Korea.
The primary objective of this initiative is to offer Indian students—particularly those majoring in Korean language, IT, engineering, and business—a pathway to employment with Korean SMEs. It will also provide Korean companies with a chance to recruit skilled Indian graduates, fostering mutual growth and collaboration. The training program will be held across major universities in Delhi, including Jamia Millia Islamia, the New Delhi Institute of Management (NDIM), and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
The program will begin with a brief introduction to KOSME and its Global Business Center (GBC), outlining the agency’s role in connecting Korean SMEs with Indian talent. The subsequent session will explain the Korean SMEs-Indian University Students Employment Linkage Program, which provides insights into the recruitment process and the benefits for both parties. A detailed session on capacity and career management will follow, led by experts such as Professor Lee Myung-yi and Professor Kim Min-young. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of career development within Korean companies, focusing on the nuances of working in a corporate environment that differs significantly from Indian organizations.
Real-life success stories of Indian graduates who have secured employment with Korean SMEs will be showcased, offering valuable advice on job hunting and career growth in South Korea. These case studies will help participants visualize their potential paths within the Korean corporate landscape.
The program will culminate in a recruitment seminar and counseling session, providing students with a direct opportunity to engage with representatives from Korean companies. This two-hour session will include company introductions, Q&A sessions, and 1:1 counseling booths. Participating companies from industries such as IT, manufacturing, and engineering will be on hand to discuss job openings, offering resume writing consultations and resume photo shoots as additional services.
This initiative is expected to provide a comprehensive approach to job preparation, connecting talented Indian graduates with Korean SMEs in a meaningful way. KOSME’s collaboration with IBS, which specializes in linking Indian students with Korean companies, will further strengthen these employment prospects. IBS will also offer career counseling and guidance to help students navigate the recruitment process effectively.
The program is set to visit major universities in Delhi, beginning with Jamia Millia Islamia on October 1, 2024, at 12:40 PM, followed by NDIM on October 7, 2024, at 1:00 PM, and Jawaharlal Nehru University on October 8, 2024, at 10:00 AM. Students interested in pursuing a career with Korean SMEs are encouraged to participate and take advantage of this unique opportunity.
