Launched in Dubai, ‘Global India Collaborative’ to play pivotal role in making India $5 Trillion economy

- Creating watchdogs in 100 cities to promote higher ethical standards in public life
NEW DELHI: March 29, 2022: With an aim to turn India into a $5 trillion economy by 2025 India Global India collaborative (GIC) was recently launched at Dubai World Expo 2020 in United Araba Amirate’s world economic capital Dubai.
A section-8 not-for-profit company with chapters in 12 countries that constitute 80% of India’s external trade, GIC stands launched with an express aim to promote sustainable development where people, the planet, and profit are in harmony.
Santosh Mangal, Global President, GIC said, “GIC is an initiative and a platform enabling India to achieve the goal of $5 trillion GDP. Driven by integrity, insight, and vision based on ground realities, we want to make a sustainable, measurable, and verifiable positive impact on our society, culture, and business ecosystems by creating a synergy between people, planet, and profit.”
“A dynamic mix of big corporate, MSMEs, experts, industry leaders, social entrepreneurs, finance professionals, retailers, investors, and media entrepreneurs. Driven by technology, new ideas, innovations, and acutely aware of emerging social needs and scenarios, it promises to take your business to a whole new level,” he added.
The GIC global president said that GIC would set up its regional chapters in Britain, the USA, and Singapore in the coming months. GIC led a high-power delegation to Dubai between March 25-28 to revitalise MSME Sector and launch other initiatives.
Addressing the launch event, Ved Pratap Vaidik, noted journalist, political analyst, and freelance columnist said, “India has been the economic superpower since ancient times and also the focus of world trade. Traders from across the world would visit India seeking trading and commerce opportunities. In the 21st century GIC would go a long way in promoting the Indian economy, which I have been dreaming about for the past 50 years.”
He added, “We can do our best in many industries including the pharmaceutical and other sectors. For these, however, we need to have a larger future vision. The education sector needs a major transformation as was done by the USA after World War II when it invested 10 percent of its GDP to promote education.”
Apart from GIC delegation representatives from India, noted trade and industry personalities , as well as associations and federations from Dubai, were also present on this occasion.
Ashok Bhuwaniwala, India President, GIC introduced the 9-point agenda as the organizational philosophy of the organisation. “GIC will initiate focussed programmes, partnerships and promotions in 9 sectors to unlock Indian business’s animal spirit to achieve the target. These include Industry, Education, Health, Justice Social, Capital Environment, Media, Ethics and Gender Issues,” Bhuwaniwala added.
Brijesh Mishra, politician, social worker, and philanthropist and former MLA said, “GIC would go a long way in achieving the long-awaited $5 trillion economy as it carried all the necessary elements to realise this dream”.
Vandana Singh, former ASSOCHEM vice-president, and director Women Empowerment and ethics GIC said, “The MSME sector can make the country Atmanirbhar (self-reliant) in manufacturing, tackle the unemployment genie, and create a dynamic and globally competitive industrial innovation eco-system. It also has tremendous potential to empower women by offering largescale equity in India’s growth story.”
While elaborating on the GIC media initiative, which is one of the nine elements the GIC would be focusing its activities, the journalist-turned media entrepreneur Sanjeev K Ahuja, Editor, Asian Community News (ACN) Network and Director, MSME Initiatives GIC, said that GIC will initiate focussed programmes, partnerships and promotions in 9 sectors to unlock Indian business’s animal spirit to achieve the target.
ACN Network a niche news-media organisation that reports on Indo-Asian and Indo-ASEAN affairs with a prime focus on Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan.
“GIC would set up a Rs 100 crore corpus to fund education, emergency relief, and health insurance for journalists and media persons in tier-1, 2, 3 towns and rural areas, and help them in transition from rural to urban areas. GIC would also extend help for training and upgrading skills of journalists,” Ahuja added.
In his address, Sahitya K Chaturvedi, President, Indian Business & Professional Council (IBPC), also lauded the efforts of the GIC in boosting the Indian economy through the newly launched platform.
Chandrashekhar Bhatia, Chairman, Global Business Federation and CEO of Nilgiri Tradding LLC also address the delegation. He said, “GIC’s priorities are right and I am confident that it’s ideas will transform MSME sector.”
Also present were Dr. Deva Solanki, Media Director, Global Business Federation, and Rehan Allahwala, Founder, Founder, Institute of Peace. .
