Marwah Studios offers to host fine-arts photography exhibition REMINISCENCE-2 at Noida Film City
LUNA Arts to go places: Marwah Studios invites LUNA Arts and photographers to organize this exhibition at Noida Film City. It also proposed constituting a national-level Still Photography Award.
NEW DELHI: Highly acclaimed Marwah Studios has offered to host the sequel of fine-arts photography REMINISCENCE at the Noida Film City. It has also proposed constituting a national-level Still Photography Award to promote still photography and photographers in the country.
Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Founder and President of the Asian Academy of Film & Television, and Noida Film City announced this while inaugurating REMINISCENCE, a-6 day fine arts photography exhibition organized by the LUNA ARTS at the prestigious All India Fine Arts & Crafts Society (AIFACS), New Delhi on March 24. Ms. Olga Dycheva, Bureau Chief, SPUTNIK International News Agency, Embassy of Russian Federation was also present on the occasion as chief guest to inaugurate the exhibition. Major General Anukul Chandra AVSM (retd.), and Padma Shri Biman Das, AIFACS Chairman were present at the inaugural ceremony as special guests. The exhibition is open to the public up to March 30.
“If the organizers of this exhibition come forward, I would love to start another national-level Still Photography Awards only for still photography, and would love to invite all the participating photographers to Marwah Studios at Noida Film City and organize the part-2 of the exhibition REMINISCENCE. I am sure we will have a wonderful audience for this kind of exhibition there,” said Marwah who also happens to be the chancellor of AAFT University of Media and Arts University where, he said, about 35 of all 70 courses contained still photography as a subject.
While congratulating the organizers LUNA Arts and the participants of the exhibition, Ms. Olga Dycheva, Bureau Chief, SPUTNIK International News Agency, said, “It’s my pleasure and honour to be here as chief guest to inaugurate the exhibition. I am all praise for the excellent pieces of work submitted here of photography by the participants.”
Featuring 37 talented photographers from all across India Including one eminent photographer & filmmaker Adducchio Gaia from Rome, Italy, the exhibition is showcasing 145 framed photos, most of them in black & white and monochrome in various categories i.e. travel, portrait & people, street photography, still life & daily life, and architectural photography. These photos deeply radiate artistic expression.
In his address, Padma Shri Biman Das said that India was replete with an enormous amount of artistic talent as well as promising artists but they needed this kind of platform to showcase their skills.
He said that those exhibiting their works at a place like AIFACS, which was the oldest art gallery of India should consider themselves fortunate. Calling the AIFACS an institution, Das said that many noted and celebrity artists of India are the product of this institution.
Founded in 1928 by the British India Government to showcase Indian art and artists globally, the All India Fine Arts & Crafts Society (AIFACS) is one of the prestigious and oldest art galleries in India with a strong historical significance.
Luna Arts is an online art marketplace for talented Indian artists and also organizes offline art exhibitions. It was founded by an artist and entrepreneur Smita and her brother Tushar in December 2019. The duo very well understands the intricate dynamics of the world of art.
