Masako Ono to perform at ‘Celebration of Buddha Purnima’ event in Tokyo
Bhubaneshwar (Odisha) India. Masako Ono, the Japanese Odissi dance from India who is going to stage a maiden performance of Indian classical Odissi dancer at Japan’s National Theatre, Tokyo on May 25, is also scheduled to perform at the Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Embassy of India in Tokyo on May 17.
It is for the first time ever that the Indian classical Odissi dance is being performed at Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Tokyo.
The event titled “Celebration of Buddha Purnima” would also witness dance lecture by Masako Ono, the world-known Odissi dance artists of Japanese origin, who had moved to India in 1996 and stayed there in Bhubaneshwar city of Odisha since then. Masako Ono is also ICCER empanelled Odissi artist.
On this occasion, Dr. Kuniko Hirano, director, Padma Yoga Ashram and visiting fellow at the Institute of Asian, African and Middle Eastern Studies, Sophia University, and Shobhana Radhakrishna, chief functionary, Gandhian Forum for Ethical Corporate Governance, SCOPE would be present as guest lecturers.
Entrance to this event is free for the public and it will be held at the VCC Auditorium of Embassy of India.
