May 23: Korea Art Road Program to Strengthen Cultural Ties Between Korea and India

NEW DELHI: Gyeongsangbuk-do, the Representative Province Government of South Korea, is set to host the highly anticipated “Korea Art Road” program at the Kamani Auditorium on May 23. This remarkable initiative aims to foster cultural and artistic youth exchange between Korea and India, celebrating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations while forging a path towards a new era of India-Korea relations through the power of culture.

The event promises an enchanting showcase of talent, commencing with a captivating promotional video highlighting the rich heritage of Korea. This will be followed by a thrilling joint performance of Taekwondo Poomsae (positions), seamlessly blending the skills of Korean and Indian performers. Gyeongsangbuk-do’s traditional farmers’ music, an enchanting auditory journey into the region’s cultural roots, will grace the stage.

Additionally, attendees will be treated to traditional Korean folk songs, a mesmerizing K-pop dance performance, and a spectacular joint performance uniting the youth of both nations. Showcasing India’s cultural prowess, the Indian Council for Cultural Relations will present captivating Indian classical and folk dance performances.

Gyeongsangbuk-do’s province government aims to attract outstanding Indian youth to Korea and Gyeongsangbuk-do by providing opportunities for academic pursuits at renowned universities, employment in esteemed companies, and engagement in a myriad of activities within the region. As part of this endeavor, the Korean Cultural Centre India has extended a warm invitation to local college students, with a special focus on special abled students, offering their support for the program.

To further entice Indian students, a special lecture by Governor Cheol-Woo Lee, the esteemed head of the Gyeongsangbuk-do government, will take place at the convention hall of Delhi University at 11 a.m. today. Preceding the lecture, the Yeungnam University Samulnori, a celebrated Korean traditional percussion quartet troupe, will take the stage, providing a captivating glimpse into the vibrant tapestry of Korean culture.
