MCND prompts Indian youths to participate in All India K-POP Contest in big number
Having participated in the last year's All India K-POP Contest. the K-Pop boy band are releasing its new album ‘X10’ tomorrow on May 21.
NEW DELHI: The ‘All India K-POP Contest 2024 presented by LG Electronics India ’ which is being organised by Korean Cultural Centre India (KCCI) got a major boost as the popular MCND sent a video message wishing good luck to the contestants for the contest. The initial preliminary round are being held online from May 17th, and will continue till June 21st, 2024.
In the minute-long video posted by Korean Cultural Centre India on its official Instagram handle, the five members of MCND – Castle J, Bic, Win, Huijun, Minjae – reached out to the Indian K-Pop fans and spoke about their previous visit to India.
“Namaste this is MCND. The All India K-Pop Contest presented by LG will be held again this year. Congratulations. We remember the precious moments meeting Indian fans at the K-Pop contest last year. We met a lot of Indian fans who like K-Pop and are very talented. We remember eating a lot of delicious food in India. Applications for this year’s online rounds can be made through the competition website until June 21st. We hope you will show a lot of interest in this year’s event as well,” members of the K-Pop band said.
The popular K-Pop boy band also announced that their upcoming album ‘X10’ will be released next week. “Indian fans, have you heard about our new album? We are making a comeback with X10 on May 21st. It would be great for our Indian fans to listen to our song and participate in covers and challenges,” they added.
In an event held recently at Korean Cultural Centre India to celebrate K-Pop, over 50 participants, mostly students, gathered to express their love for K-Pop in whichever way they felt comfortable. Some held up banners such as “It’s a vibe” and “Life’s Good” and posed for photographs, while others danced on popular K-pop songs with the crowd cheering them on. It was a great celebration of K-Pop music that has taken over India and the rest of the world.
The 14th edition of the All India K-POP Contest will begin later this week with one of the leading consumer durable brands in India, LG Electronics, as its sole sponsor. The finalists of the ‘All India K-POP Contest 2024 presented by LG’ will get an opportunity to visit Korea.
Hwang Il Yong, Director of Korean Cultural Centre India, said, “In a survey held regarding the preference for Korean cultural content abroad, India ranked as one of the highest nations around the world. This K-POP contest is the only large-scale ‘Korean Wave’ event held in all of India.
“This year, in addition to the main event, we plan to hold various participatory events that everyone can enjoy, such as ‘K-POP On Street’. I hope it will become a festival venue where Indians who love the ‘Korean Wave’ can come out and enjoy,” Hwang added.
