FUKUOKA (JAPAN): The epitome of Indo-Japanese cultural exchange and friendship – the annual Namaste Japan Fest is back with a bang, the fourth year in a row.

Being organized this time on the virtual platform YouTube like the last year by Fukuoka-based Namaste Japan Fest Executive Committee, it is the 4th edition and is starting on May 15.

The virtual event would have programs around calligraphy, origami, Ikebana, Japanese Kimonos, and Yukata. The artists participating from Japan and India would submit their pre-recorded video footages which will be played during the event. These performances would include Japanese Drum, Dance, and Songs from both countries.

Earlier two events were organized at the Garden of Five Senses in New Delhi in 2019 and 2020, while the third one was held in virtual mode and was streamed live from Fukuoka.

Asian Community News (ACN) Network has been continuously supporting this event, by the way, promoting it with its continuous reportage in the Asia-Pacific region. ACN has been Media Partner with Namaste Japan Fest for the last three terms i.e. 2020, 2021, and 2022.

The co-organizer of the event is Fukuoka International Exchange Foundation (Plan), and it is being supported by the Consulate General of India – Osaka-Kobe, Japan Foundation (Plan), Namaste Fukuoka, Fukuoka India Friendship Association (FIFA), Ochamura LTD (Plan), and Japan National Tourism Organization (Plan).

“We and our team of Japanese and Indians have been organizing Namaste Japan Fest in New Delhi for the last three years very successfully, and received a huge response and support from both the people. But due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we organized this event on virtual platforms in 2021 and 2022, and it will be streamed live from Fukuoka on various social media platforms across Japan, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, and other countries as well,” said Dharmendra Kumar, Chairman, Namaste Japan Fest Executive Committee.

In 2019, Namaste Japan Fest was organized for the first time in India in New Delhi in physical mode. Next year in February 2020 in New Delhi, around 10,000 people visited the Namaste Japan Fest 2020 at the Garden of Five Senses to experience the fusion of Japanese and Indian art, culture, language, food, and friendship.

However, the fest went virtual in the year 2021 and during the current year too.
