New Year Literary Gift from Jayaraj V Thoppil: ‘Blue Book of Transitory Souls’

NEW DELHI: Jayaraj V Thoppil, an amateur writer is in news again for his other literary offering – the second one since 2012, and yet another fiction ‘Blue Book of Transitory Souls’.

The book title aptly makes a strange but pertinent revelation in the contemporary context – we are all just transitory souls.… If so, why so much greed and ego to acquire amassing resources and creating huge boundaries all around?

The author leaves this unanswered question open for the readers to ponder over, fearing the repeat episode of the disappearance of John Lennon.

And this is what makes the readers go for the 212-page book The Blue Book of Transitory souls – Beyond an escape saga. The book was launched by the publishers Leadstart in Mumbai on January 20.

His debut work titled ‘Alcohol’ was a contemporary fiction published by Frog Books, India. Its second edition was renamed ‘One Pint of Cheers’ and published by Tate Publishers, the USA, and the third edition was published by Notion press, India subsequently. These books are available in all online stores.

While talking about his latest offering ‘Blue Book of Transitory Souls’– a mystery genre, Jayaraj said, ‘It’s beyond an escape saga. Its revelations are serious and spellbound’.

‘Blue Book of Transitory souls’ recounts the story of a man with many identities and lives, but only one belief that all human beings are souls in transit. It’s a tale of abandonment, mystique, and belief that could change the way you see life.

The story starts with a conflict over an intricate hypothesis and it’s after-effects. The fiction is about a man shows up one day in the Land of blue sky in search of his step-siblings for a happy get-together, eventually got surrendered by the mob in a suspicious circumstance, become captive unconditionally. He does not know who he is, or where he comes from.

But after he shoots an innocent man in public without even a flicker of remorse, the townspeople realize there is more to this solitary man,” said Jayaraj.

What inspired the author to write this book?

A creative mind can never be idle for a long time. After a brief gap, I felt its right time to deliver my next reserve.

It’s important to tell everyone that we are here to live life gracefully. Never lose the charm of life while in the rush on the unending accumulation of wealth in this highly competitive and resource crunched world.

“One day, our soul too wants to exit from the earth gracefully after a brief life span. One has to liberate the soul to travel to the next phase. Not only various research in this direction land me up in a situation that compelled me to compile this mysterious storyline, but also I am half-sick of highly arrogant, egoistic and impatient people around me who never realize that they are merely transitory souls in transit and their stay period is counted,” said Jayaraj.

He added, “Hence transitory souls happened to be a subject of my storytelling… Since the whole episode describes transitory souls and there is no other book that exists in this regard so far, perhaps this book stands as lone reference bluebook of transitory souls.”

About the Author;

Jayaraj V Thoppil was born in Desam (Aluva), in the suburbs of Cochin, Kerala and happily lives with his family in Gurgaon, Haryana. Employed with India-Japanese automobile major as Dy. General Manager, Jayaraj’s unquenched passion for creative writing and fine arts led him to the great literary world.

He is married to Sumini Jayaraj, an entrepreneur in proactive health care.

In his early days of life, Jayaraj liked Tintin, The Adventures of Tintin as his favorite fictional hero. Wordsworth, Sylvia Plath, Franz Kafka, Khalil Gibran, Pablo Neruda, and Kunjunni Mash are his ever time favorite authors. He likes to read Metamorphosis, Alchemist, Crime & Punishment, Khasakkinte Ithihasam once again but loves to read Bhagavad Gita repeatedly.

However, Jayaraj wished he had authored ‘One Hundred Years of Solitude’.
