NEW DELHI: In pursuit of the continuous discharge of its social responsibility in India, the NongHyup Bank [농협은행] – also known as NH Bank of South Korea, has offered its help to yet another school in Uttar Pradesh.
On August 29, Gurugram-based bank’s staff members led by its deputy CEO Byunghwan Son from Seoul and managing director Sung Chang Hong reached the NIV School in Noida – a NCR (National Capital Region) town where the bank has donated equipment, fixtures, and other items to strengthen school’s infrastructure and to improve educational environment for the students.
Earlier too, on July 5 this year, the NH Bank had donated high quality wooden and steel desks for the students of a government-run school in Faridpur village, Sikandrabad of Uttar Pradesh where the students earlier were forced to sit on the floor in classrooms.
According to the bank officers NH Bank enjoys a long association with the NIV School with which it carried out the corporate social responsibility (CSR) in various phases. The school has 170 students of primary level.
In the past, as part of its CSR initiative, the basic necessities of the school like desks and chairs, school stationery, solar system, motor pump, and water tank were provided to the school.

The effort is in line with Swachhata Abhiyan (Cleanliness Drive) launched by Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India,” said the bank officers.
On this occasion, NH Bank’s deputy CEO Byunghwan Son interacted with the students and also distributed stationery items and sweets amongst them.
On behalf of the school, a warm welcome was accorded to the bank’s management by the school principal, Shaji Mathew and teachers, and students. Students also presented the cultural program and won the heart of Korean bank’s management. Aruna, the wife of the principal was also present on the occasion.
